SKIP LEVEL MEETING INVITE

Did anyone else got a skip level meeting with a manager? I just did this morning but it’s not until August. What could this be? Cant be good. But I’ll just take it as a 2 month bye bye notice. Time to look for a new job!

Skip levels happened at least quarterly when I was with a health plan. Haven’t had one in shared services yet

That is exactly what they called our layoff meetings (you, your boss, their boss and an HR person) in 2021. Start looking now. I never had one prior to that meeting in over ten years. They are as sneaky as they come.

You need to chill, they are supposed to have skip level meetings and often schedule them far ahead of time…

lol. Relax. HR is pushing leaders to meet with their downline teams. It’s normal and if it’s new to you or your area, your leader probably had a chat from HR telling them need to “plug in” at all levels in their org chart.

"Time to look for a new job!"

Time to look for a new job?! Boo, you should have been looking since last year! Plenty of people who were let go last year are STILL looking for a job. You shouldn't be waiting until the last minute. If you're happy there, that's one thing but if you're constantly worried about every message or meeting hinting at a layoff, that's not a healthy way to live. Get to looking now and don't wait until you have no choice because at least right now you're still getting a paycheck while you look. Once you're let go, that won't be the case if you don't get something quick. Just my opinion.

I have been with the company for years and have NEVER heard of level meetings let alone had one which is probably something my PL would avoid at all costs since I'm sure plenty of people would throw them under the bus.

For those of you a holes criticizing someone for not knowing what the meeting is or that they exist, don't fault them for the sh---y management we clearly have that does nothing to check in and see how their PL are doing as long as the PL are the ones saying everything is great.

"Nice work on the employees you retained there Centene."

This implies YOU do not belong to Centene so what the he-l are you doing on this message board? Must be another one going through withdrawals! 🤣🤣🤣

"If you haven't you've heard of a Skip level meeting in 7 years then you should speak with your management

Comprehension is obviously not your strong suit otherwise you would know that I literally said the same thing. So, let me spell it out for you.

Centene wouldn't give anyone a "heads up" by scheduling a layoff meeting two months out.
Centene, without a care in the world would just lay them off immediately with no notice at all.
There has been a two month termination date AFTER being notified of a layoff."

Let me spell it out for you: Your an a--hole and obviously have no common sense whatsoever which is clear by your need to write a book putting this person down. Why would this person talk to management if they never heard of a skip meeting? Can't ask about things that you have no idea are even a thing. Just STFU. Guaranteed your one of the a--hats trolling this site because your so far up Centenes a-s you relish the taste of sh-t and are going through withdrawal.

I don't think they would be scheduled at the same time from one area to the next. So, the Manager who just scheduled it for August now knows his/her area is using this chat Yikes!!!

Nice work on the employees you retained there Centene.🤣

For crying out loud! You should have googled what a skip meeting was before posting this!

Look, you're not going to get a heads up about any layoff in here! What part of that do some of you not get!!!
People have been let go since the leak, watched every post in this thread hoping to get some insight, and were STILL caught off guard!

Name calling weirdos, yall are miserable fu--s. Have the day you deserve.

if your boss’s boss isn’t already having a skip step with you, they’re bad at their job. I have them quarterly. some folks on this board are ready to make every little thing into the supreme evil when there’s ACTUAL bad stuff happening.

No this is a common practice. Our VP does it twice a year.

I have never heard of a SKIP level meeting and I have been with Centene for 7 years, That being said I find it interesting that you think Centene (who by the way in case you forgot chose to hide the layoffs from the public and the target employees in Sept 2023 only to get called out by a media leak) would ever give people time to prepare for upcoming termination/RIF. The only people this company cares less about then their employees is their members & providers and they 100% are not hiding it anymore.

They probably scheduled it ahead of time so they remember to do it, no big deal

We do skip levels once per quarter and it’s just to check in and get you some time with your bosses boss. Mine have just involved small talk but sometimes work

That's not what a skip level meeting is. There not going to give you two months notice of your termination. They would just do it now and give you two months to find something.
