Shocked at all the jaded people on here. Mid year IDP check ins are normal here. Seems like a lot of you had supervisors that were not doing their jobs if this is new to you. Just because we are having mid year syncs doesn’t mean layoffs are coming. Smh lol

Right.. It used to be 10 times more involved, monthly One on ones, only measurable criteria, annual performance reviews, plus 10 surveys
a month, just for someone granted the entitlement of 3 times your pay to give you the "bucket" speach, told your not the best, there's nothing wrong with a "meets expectation" rating, expectations have always been higher for you, you're doing a great job, here's my feelings I wrote down about you, here's your 0.2% raise, oh, and we're positioned for growth..
what'd I miss?
Husband was a former Sprint employee. They did a formal review once a year. They met with their managers once maybe twice a month (1:1). It was never this red tape stuff you guysbtalk about now and he never had a complaint before. Idk whats going on now, but its all newer and i dont think its from Sprint.
I gave them what this company gives me in my "check-in"...vague nothingness.
I loved completing my IDP! It reminded me how far I've come since I started working here and how well prepared I am for that severance check to hit.
Midyears may be the new normal was never a thing till this year
I suspect a small round of layoffs will be announced early august. Still too many headcount.
What’s the point of IDP - when we have promotion freeze ?
OP you are either misinformed, gullible, new hire, akisser, HQ plant, or a combination of the above.
During Legere era, IDPs were considered stuffy and not needed. HR even agreed that all was required were casual check-ins. I never had to create an IDP just like many of my peers. It wasn’t until last year company wide HR mandate went out to create IDPs as well as Workday profiles. As-needed check-ins decided between your manager are normal, but HR blasts with deadlines are a red flag.
Workday has been in operation for many years and underutilized. They need profiles to be populated for stack rankings like baseball cards with the Jack Welch bell curve approach that Sprint favored.
Sprint personnel managers (Looking at you Deanne) have lots of experience in using evaluation tools such as IDPs to figure out how to cull the employee rolls. She had multiple years experience doing it before the merger as Sprint had constant layoffs to stay in business. Now the New Sprint (err.. T-Mobile) is having annual layoffs to get to a number that maximizes the Executive Leadership staff stock options.
My life’s in the gutter because I wasted my career with T-Mobile.
Layoffs are nothing new at any company. They come they go it is what it is. Why you all trying to scare everyone because your life is in the gutter.
Years of management requesting IDPs without any real career advancement and now it’s a tool to help facilitate layoffs. Go figure
Doesn't mean they're not coming either. Aug/Sept timeframe, keep those resumes updated.
Layoffs are coming, this isn’t a rumor it’s a fact!
You are 100% correct. It shows bad leadership all the way around, this doesn't mean anyone is JADED, it shows TMOBILE doesn't have right people managers in place. I've been saying it for years. It's a HR and legal nightmare in most markets. Report bad behavior and hold bad managers accountable. Not Jaded just needs guidance from great leaders. Some of the old tired managers have been sitting in these positions for 20 plus years with no formal leadership training. Bad on TMOBILE not the employees
