Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Greed has taken over Cigna and the stench of it is overwhelming.

I am sadden that Cigna "who I thought was better than all of this" has stooped so low. Cigna is in a very unique industry and position where it can benefit many Americans and people world wide to make the overall quality of life "Vitality" better. In addition to this, Cigna used to be a strong supporter of sharing it's profits by compensating employees an above average wage to live and support the American Dream. Rather than "do that", it prefers to squeeze profit out of every orifice it can get away with to benefit it's shareholders. Greed has taken over Cigna and the stench of it is overwhelming.

[I saw this post in https://www.thelayoff.com/post/@1ehr+1sZfSGY3
I had to reshare it as it's own post as I agree with it 100% and feel this is what Cigna has turned into, a greedy cooperation that has no shame.]

Geed is so bad within Cigna that the next wave of layoffs really is now coming from enforcing a illogical company policy of forcing many Cigna employees into a office to work remotely. The goal of such policy is to reduce more operation expense and fire people to be either replaced with cheaper younger inexperienced people, offshore employees, or AI. It's sad that Cigna has stooped this low. What's even more sad is how it's just not Cigna, but many other large cooperation's. These larger companies are ruining our country by being greedy and NOT caring about it's customers or employees. They are not trickling down the profits to their employees and keeping large profit and wealth for to top earners only.

Those numbers are wrong. It is
Wealthy elites : Top 1%
Upper middle class: Next 4%
middle class: Next 7%
Working class who are one broken bone, failing fuel pump, or layoff away from financial ruin and who live paycheck to paycheck despite scrimping: next
Desperately poor needing way more than food stamps: Bottom 18%

It is way worse out there than your rosy trickle down economics outlook would make it seem.

For instance I am Band 4, but after inflation and increased taxes, and the insane interest in my student loans, and a medical condition that I could not anticipate or prevent, I now have no money left over to pay for retirement let alone save up in case something bad happens. I work hard and did everything I was supposed to. The system is broken. So is Cigna

When boomers start dying off, the majority of the nation’s wealth will be redistributed.

Huh? Where is it going to go? Rich families will continue being rich, poor families will continue being poor unless the younger generations create wealth.

Me looking at my broke a-s grandparents who were su-ked dry by healthcare costs 🧐

Bravo to the wealthy families out there but most of the boomer wealth transfer is going to corporations, not children.

When boomers start dying off, the majority of the nation’s wealth will be redistributed.

It will be the largest transfer of wealth in world history.

“US population by economic group:
Capitalist class: Top 1%
Upper middle class: Next 14%
Lower middle class: Next 30%
Working class: Next 25%
Working-poor class: Next 15%
Underclass: Bottom 15%”

Those top 2 groups are paying the way for the bottom 3 groups.

“There is no more middle class because the C-suite gobbled it all up. Capitalism is great when it rewards EVERYONE, but history shows that when greed gets out of control people hit a breaking point and revolt.”

Calm down comrade.
There’s still lots of middle class folks.
Class warfare isn’t as imminent as you hope.

US population by economic group:
Capitalist class: Top 1%
Upper middle class: Next 14%
Lower middle class: Next 30%
Working class: Next 25%
Working-poor class: Next 15%
Underclass: Bottom 15%

However, I will concede that this is problematic:
The top 1% of American earners now control more wealth than the nation's entire middle class

It’s not just Cigna. It’s everywhere in the USA. There is no more middle class because the C-suite gobbled it all up. Capitalism is great when it rewards EVERYONE, but history shows that when greed gets out of control people hit a breaking point and revolt. Feel like we are nearing that breaking point. I mean Cigna’s entire business model is greed…”pay us your premium and we will figure out how to deny your claim and keep your money.”

It’s becoming known across the industry now and other sectors. After leaving, there seems to be broad awareness (aka poor management including layoffs off full departments or top performers without legit reason). You can attempt to hide behind fluff articles, but reality is fact. By the way, if you try to switch departments or roles (e.g., attempt to secure a virtual position)— you will get blocked.

Yep, this is what Cigna has become, for better of worse. A greedy cooperate "shmuck". Full blown "pendejo" of a former self. I condemn Cordoni for turning this former great company into this. You turned Cinga from a "pack leader", trailblazer, and leader into a full blown money profit follower at the expense of your members and employees.
