Thread regarding Ford layoffs

My skills are deteriorating working here

Coming to a realization that longer I work here , the more incompetent I’m becoming .

Never seen a group of more un ambitious people and seat warmers. Wish the job market was better so I wasn’t trapped here

Perhaps the reason you aren’t getting any callbacks is because you don’t know the difference between “there” and “their”.

Fun fact - even if it says 100 applicants, that is just the number of people that have clicked on the job posting. It does not actually indicate how many people have formally applied per LinkedIn.

Unhappy, starting look for another position otherwise find another job!

Their jobs out there if you are patient enough to seek them out. I been retired for a couple of years and still get inquiries about engineering positions.

Too many senseless whining posters on this site!

@dsl+1sxj7aDh get the linkedin upgrade and you can see how many apply for each posting. it is over 1000 in many cases. whether a lot of them are unqualified doesn't matter because somebody has to wade thru all that. imagine paging thru a 1000 page book. even if you only glance at each one, it takes a while. also some companies post the same job in many cities if it is remote (aka spamming the system) and so # of available positions might be overcounted.

@vxa, your grammar su-ks and your recruiter contact at GM is a liar. Job postings may get dozens of applicants or one to two hundred if it’s desirable, but not thousands. Even our evergreen postings take months/years to break 1000 applications, many are duplicates as well.

@vxa+1sxj7aDh, maybe it's your grammar. Reevaluate your resumes and applications. If your writing is reflected on those things as it is on this site, I can see why you're not getting hired. Try Grammarly. It will assist you in that area.

A long time ago my department manager told me in a review to always remember you are in charge of you. If you want to drive hard and you don't find a way to grow, succeed, whatever... find that path and realize it may not be here. It is never easy, it takes a large personal effort to bring about that opportunity and if that path isn't available where you're sitting realize you need to leave to make it happen. Sure market forces are a consideration but they are not a hard boundary condition. Your own determination and ingenuity is. Good luck, my 2 cents. Been there done that. Happiness is more important than you know,

There are always jobs for good people. You are doing yourself no favors if you really feel that way. You sound more like a procrastinator though as you are on here hoping to find out you will get laid off, so maybe Ford is the place for you.
