Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

PNW work climate

It’s an all time low here in the PNW. Second and third level incompetence is impossible to ignore these days. From openly telling us to not fix damaged peds/bsw/cable and fudging our times to make there metrics look better is just the start. They are dismantling all crew rooms and threatening to write up technicians for everything and anything. Saying that they’ve made it an uncomfortable/hostile work environment would be too kind. We’re just hoping our paychecks are correct for once lately. Issues are still ongoing in PDX and SW Wash since the new tech force was implemented.

Total agreement with the last comment. That’s the position I’m in. It’s a fantastic feeling. I really hope many of you on here and the younger employees can reach this stage of your careers. Don’t stress this place. Just keep showing up and doing your job. 30 years ago everyone said the job might last another 10 years…yet here we are.

Honestly if you have decided to leave Lumen and have no concerns in losing job just cost and collect check. No reason to fear or stress at that point. Reason I say this I look at all these directors in calls they do squat or provide 0 leadership other than text book 1 liners. So why should the subordinates care of no guidance

There is NO part of this transformation that is sustainable going forward...much less sustaining revenue from it. Investors know it, SLT knows it and the employees know it. Anyone left around is just riding the ship till the end and head strong enough to deal with the internal issues as they come! After the last 7 yrs of failed transformation and internal issues seemingly propagating daily, IF leadership thinks they are getting anything more than the bare minimum, thats on them! We are now in the transformation stage of "battling for attrition".

Just what I said dude. Putting about 2k a month in the 401k. And sure, they can add me to any list they want. Unless they lay off about 50 techs in my rca they can’t get rid of me….unless of course I get offered an enhanced vspp, then I’m running out the door smiling with 2 fingers in the air

Padding your 401k? Yeah right. With that attitude you are on the next RIF list, and they know who you are.

I’ll jump when they offer a buyout. Til then, why quit? Getting paid and padding my pension and 401k.

Time to jump off the sinking boat. Or choose to whine and cry as the boat goes under water.
