Zscaler rule, cmon man
Neither of these issues were really avoidable. But you can sure count on many more outages and slow recoveries soon. Teams that used to have 8-12 experienced members are down to 2 or 3 at most with the rest offshore newbies. Unrealistic workloads and SLA demands are driving more away each week. Nobody wants to be the last one standing. Last one out don't forget to shut the lights off. Offshore doesn't know where the light switches are.
@lqe
The teams/outlook issue was caused by a global outage of Zscaler, which is a service integrated into microsoft for various cloud security and monitoring reasons. When it has issues, we have issues.
I read the whiteboard for the other outage and it was out of my technical understanding, aside from being able to tell it was an issue on our side, rather than with a third party.
OP should ask Frau Ines before she retires!
Its only going to get worse, State Farm leadership is so petrified they cannot make a decision to move forward and HCL is no way capable to take over. Next months production Maintenance and IPL's will be even worse ...all the updates coming down are just jacked. We will have more Rebadged people let go / fired and the same about tired of the bullsh-t just up and leave.
First rule of making the decision to outsource your technology.... It IS all your problem. P!ssed off callers today didn't really care which of our myriad of vendors pooped the bed.
@mpn+1svS92L6 There are more of the I told you so coming at many other levels of the company. Poor decisions were made to save a penny that will cost them big bucks in the end run. Money is their God. Accountants do not live in the "real world."
"To be fair, the teams/outlook issue wasn't a State Farm problem, but with a service we use, and it was a global issue. The bigger one did appear to be all us... " ?? Please explain.
To be fair, the teams/outlook issue wasn't a State Farm problem, but with a service we use, and it was a global issue. The bigger one did appear to be all us...
Imagine coming on this site to ask for updates instead of just uhhh.. "doing what you can" while you "wait for the all clear"
based on last comment i can surmise everything was being held together via hopes and dreams and this was the straw that broke the camels back...
good to know its not just me , you would think SF would have texted everyone to give some kind of info, most of us are pretty much stranded at this point with zero information
I told you people ... from what I understand Production Maintenance was a nightmare with systems missing all kinds of SLAs not to mention the IPLs / re-IPLs because of pure and simple incompetence. There are simply not enough skill techs left as HCL and State Farm systems have kneecapped/ hijacked "onboarding" based on Indian/ or Diversity NOT skills or experience. I Told you people .... now here we are....
