Just attended the MA Transition Office Hours. How are folks feeling? Think there will be layoffs prior to and after transition Q1 2025?

I was surprised when they announced that non MA people would also be making the transition.....turns out my dept is losing 3 senior level people.....more work for the rest of us
Matrix partner here, and with them keep saying we will know more in the “weeks to come” is very frustrating. What does that mean? How many weeks? The stress and anxiety is real! Either way, I’d be happy if selected to move to HCSC or be job eliminated at this point. The culture change at Cigna over the past two years does not fit my integrity or values, it’s very disappointing.
Late June, final round.
I am optimistic and hopeful. I was getting tired of Cigna rapid culture shift and moving to HCSC feels like a blessing. No company is perfect, but from I hear HCSC is less focused on Shareholders (Like Cigna) and more about running the business.
They can’t afford layoffs in MA. People have been disappearing daily since the announcement of the sale. Good employees got out and the teams left are not as knowledgeable as the staff that left. Production time is much slower and so is the quality.
My impression was most of that transition team is getting a retention bonus to stay and tell us how great this sale will be for the Cigna employees. In reality, if it’s half as good as what they are saying, it’ll be better than staying with Cigna
My guess, no layoffs from Cigna if you got the email saying you are transitioning already. Matrix partners waiting to hear back maybe not as lucky.
On the HCSC side post acquisition 2025, existing markets with established employees like Texas. I would expect them to cut staff as they already have network teams. All my guess but best to do is keep the resume updated for everyone.
