“Guru is honestly one of the best executives I have ever been around…”

Brilliant…I needed a laugh…thanks. Oh and if you do seriously think he is one of the best executives you’ve been around, you really really need to get out more.

Guru is honestly one of the best executives I have ever been around. His previous stints didn't look good because he didn't have the right people around him to implement his vision. Viasat is different. There may be short term pain, but over the long run we'll see the fruits of Guru's brilliance.

I mean…I was told that we weren’t having anymore layoffs and then a month later I was affected by the 10% RIF. In my experience, they’ve always say “no more layoffs” to keep productivity up while they strategize how to/when to implement RIFs. If people were expecting to be laid off, I’m sure their productivity would tank. My advice is to continue to work hard, but take everything Guru says with a grain of salt until Viasat reaches cash flow positive or till Guru shows otherwise.

Honestly, I'm glad I got laid off. It was the motivation I needed to do something new.

Hey @ Anonymous. Have you met Guru? I have.
Sure, he gives orders. Like “get me a private jet” (but you guys save money) or “get me a hotel room, but no carpet” (just weird) etc etc…..
Oh yeah, We should care about Earth Day / Divali / San Diego parks or whatever but we don’t care about the stock price, our 401ks, or firing 1900 loyal employees.
Just sayin’ ….

Good time to have another job lined up. Kuiper and Starlink are eating Viasat's lunch. It is what it is.

@Anonymous “Stop spreading misinformation. Guru said no more layoffs. Period. Stop the troll”

It ain’t misinfo it is sitting on the compass dude and predicts the marching orders for our L2s. We can all wait and see….

Yeah Guru said no more layoffs. My L2 says the same.
How you gonna feel when you figure out they are just following orders which includes saying things that ain’t true?

at this point the one true thing that would be surprising is if the plans in fact were no more layoffs. there will be several more years of layoffs regardless of guru's insincere "no more layoffs" commentary, it's what happens when a company clumsily dismisses critical technology disruptions. anybody remember mark's early pitch that a new entrant doesn't usually drive established players out of business. Or remember when he then took a spin at marketing the threat as leo "mania" as if these new disruptions were poorly thought through and merely frenzied spends of some excentic billionaires. The viasat story will end up on the same shelf as other extinct businesses that missed the turn.

FY24 - Reduction -900

That's fiscal year 2024, which includes the 800 laid off last October.

It won't be all of the Inmarsat folks laid off, hopefully some of the bloat from legacy ViaSat will be sent away and they keep the best, most productive folks from both companies
