Intel pricing trash CPU's like they are a top dog from the 80's.
We don't know the power used during Geekbench but it's probably pretty high. What we do know is the core i9 14900KS is a flagship desktop CPU with power consumption up to 432 watts requiring water cooling. When your deskop CPU is beaten by a fanless tablet it's time to close shop and become an Uber driver.

@1fgq
250W is not comparable.
It’s 250W to not even come close and be like 22% slower.
It’s pretty damning.
Intel svcks at it’s supposed core competency.
@1sce : talent versus pretenders
The thermal headroom in Apple's 5.1mm fanless tablet is probably around 6 watts. To significantly outperform Intel using 250 watts with a large HSF is insanity. No, this is not just due to TSMC as Intel using the same node could not come close to this massive difference.

Why do we need to push north of 250W for x86 CPUs to get comparable to an M4 chip??
Apple is an existence proof that you can build fast and power efficient processors far exceeding Intel.
It’s only a matter of time before Qualcomm or AMD or someone else unlocks this for windows.
A large part of this is TSMC advantage.
Also I disagree with the ‘small market’ statement. Small volumes, but large profits.
If you count tablets as computers (which you totally should), then they clearly outsell PCs.
Tablets have replaced PCs for a subset of the TAM where people would rather spend on a tablet vs a PC.
Apple is such a minuscule portion of Intel sales, this is immaterial. Also who cares how powerful M4 is when it cant run a real OS or play real games. Intel is the top dog in Apple compete.
Time to ditch x86 or come up with some hybrid approach with RISC-V or something like that. Also, do ARM chips. x86 alone is toasted!!
Intel needs 250 watts and unstable silicon to hit 3100 while Apple does 3800 in a fanless 5.1mm thick tablet.
Intel should just give up at this point.
Dang, pretty good for a lifestyle company.
