Changing working times

Recently our department went from salary with flexibility to hourly. The supervisor granted me an exception to start early just to have to taken away with no reasoning. I live in EST but others who live in different times zones have the option to work early or work their time zone. But EST are being told they cannot work early.
How can I report this to make them make the hours fair to all time zones?

@wer+1sr2Fr1O - It’s called a time zone and it’s a global company. Grow tf up or go somewhere they value an ignorant mentality. Everyone has to work your hours because YOU do? If I support a client facing team on the east coast and I’m not in that time zone (because I’ve been WAH for 10+ years and agreed to that EST schedule on hire) it means I start working when my TEAM starts working. It makes zero sense for them to wait 2 hours for me to get there or for me to have 2 hours at the end of my day where they aren’t available but I need to engage with them.

It just depends on what your role is and business need. If you're on a call queue 95% that doesn't even open until 9est (example) then it doesn't make much sense for you to start at 6am. People on my team have tried to do this and it's always a "business need" rejection. And as much as I like to complain, I do get this one.

This seems department specific, in my area people in EST can work early. Maybe ask your manager, skip level, or hrbp!

I’ve wondered the same and not sure who to go to. Why do I have to work 8-4:30 but other people can work 6-2:30 because they live in Texas or Colorado??? Everyone should have to work 8-4:30 or 8:30-5 in THEIR time zone. That’s what we were told was going to happen but it’s not. It’s not fair. I want to work 6-2:30.
