Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

I am so happy that this nightmare is almost over

My manager hinted to me last Friday that I will probably be given my marching orders this or next month.

Believe you me, this past weekend was one of the best I’ve had in almost 10 years, because this will mean I will never have to see the faces and have to listen to the garbage and lies of the charlatan AM and his monstrous enabler ST…. leaving this company will most definitely be the highlight of this decade for me and my family.

Upwards and onwards, dear Avayans. This national nightmare of sick demented corrupted leadership team is almost over for some of you.

Foolish planning. They were able to achieve bankruptcy because they moved a lot of assets under "Avaya International". Yet now they appear to be dismantling "Avaya International". Something doesn't add up.

You lack global knowledge of employment realities. No.
No.
No.
No.

People quit they lose all protections and securities AND look bad to new prospective employers (in regions where there are few few jobs).

Stop bullying. Just stop.

I’m not trying to be mean. You could always just find a new job while working at Avaya. You’re going to need to find a new one anyway, why wait until you’re laid off?

Stop bullying people who are miserable by snapping "you could always quit".

NO. They can't. It's a one way game where employers can change direction on a whim, but if you change direction, quit, take a risk you get eliminated as a candidate because you "quit jobs" or "change too often", etc. etc.

Grow up people. How dare you dismiss someone's reality you know to be very true.

Be better!

For those that are blaming Apollo, just remind yourselves that this latest sets of as-----nations are being done at the whim of Bain. They have a very interesting story, and only generally get involved to strip down and buy a company with a leveraged loan (Sound familiar? AKA Silverlake) and then sell the parts and bancrupt the heart.

When we believed ST to be just a loud, annoying, client-clueless blowhard; it was a pain to deal with her but we could navigate knowing she was all bark clueless and just a rando contributor we had to learn to tolerate.

Now we know she has a voice at the top making fateful decisions? It would explain a lot, such as why ML has adopted the same-levell of customer offensive arrogance, or why ML so proudly declares her spot on the board.
It would also explain why ML people keep declaring that she will take over from Alan as CEO. ML and her people are powered by ST.

ST is plotting to push out yet another CEO. 2 in under 2 years. *Yes, that would make you very successful ST. A successful snake in the grass! *🐍

Why not just leave? Lol

Yes, ST induces spontaneous vertigo, for clients, partners and internal teams.

And no, she's not special. Not brilliant. Just a special form of arrogance that always cons the powers that be. It now seems more likely that it could have been ST who initiated contact with Apollo. Anything to serve her own game.

Always a corrupt agenda with that one.

With 66 more departures in Galway you don't need R&D when you are grooming a company for sale. As many as Avaya has laid off, this can't be to align for growth, it's to get lean to become a purchase target. Apollo isn't interested in being in this line of business, they want the revenue from a sale from all assets. AM has known this ever since a deal was struck in fall of 2022 and he took the payoff up front to support this plan. A sleaz bag and a liar that sold out the employees after he promised them otherwise. Engage won't be to benefit the Avaya customer base, it will be to make Avaya look like a great company with vision and a great purchase.

Best of luck to those affected, at least you have your credibility and your dignity, the management you're leaving doesn't.

I don’t understand how ST leaves so many obvious paths of destruction yet continues to be such a “pivotal voice” that many in sales are pushed to include her with customers. They’re about to pivot on out of here. Maybe I want my nightmare to be over too. I feel so set off my inner alignment anytime I have any interaction with ST.
