Majority of MPT at Clinton have advanced degrees in Science and Engineering.
They're probably overeducated for Tejas.
And they know it.

Wow!! Completely the opposite. Past moves have shown that practically everybody moves. The fact of the matter is that this place, no matter how we hate ranking or the leadership, still pays very well and it is difficult to find a similar paycheck. Other than people eligible to retirement, at most 1 in 10 people that were offered relocation will not come.

If you look at past relocations (Fairfax to Houston or Toronto to Calgary) you can figure only about 20-25% of current employees will actual move to Houston at best. Retention loss is anticipated and part of the plan. Consider it a very large layoff without actual calling it a layoff …. sound familiar - hint PIP.

Keep your house in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and rent a cheap apartment in Houston until you are eligible for retirement.

Yes, the vast majority of folks will be let go. We have been told opportunities will be very limited.

For people who not retirement eligible or not willing to move to TX, three years of doing nothing and to find a new job is pretty good deal.
The problem is most people with marketable skills outside have already left. The leftovers are pretty much unemployable at their current salary level. These unemployables will eventually move to TX. Trust me, they are pretty good at play corporate games and are good storytellers

Only people from NJ want to live in NJ. It’s not like everyone wants to move there and retire ….. unless you originally were from NJ. Migration of population out and not moving in other then the illegals.

Looks like play time at the country club has come to an end. Time to man up and play with the big boys now.

You’d have to have your head examined to move from Clinton to houston. You’d just be selling your house and moving your entire life only to find yourself pip’d within a year or 2. This is the strategy of course . Get people to quit of their own volition, and if they’re too stubborn to get the memo, welcome them to houston with a pip.

Most people from Clinton won't move to Houston. They have three years of paid vacations to find another job while doing absolutely nothing for Exxon. Not a bad deal.

I feel bad for all the EMHC folks that will get pushed down into a lower PA bucket when the Clinton folks arrive.
