Wrong info, production of Transmissions are going to CAFTP. Eventually VEPC, STP, LTP will see their production volumes to be reduced. Same transmission costs 1/3 rd of what it costs to make in the US, same quality since Tier's are the same as in America but with branches in China.
Design work has been steadily moving to India, China and Turkey. For joint venture w/VW core engineering is done in Turkey.
Clerical positions may be transferred to Latin America but core engineering positions are moving to Asia, in particular India. Kumar is a strong pusher for moving design operations to India. Purchasing and STA operations are already there

I'm afraid @fea may be correct. Tesla sees the change in demand and are reactively adjusting their costs. The market determines winners and losers, not the government. Hoping the impact of any potential Ford layoffs are muted since we have ICE and Hybrid vehicles and serious quality issues to fix.
The outsourcing of jobs to Lower Cost Locations started with Accounting and Finance around 2010. As others have mentioned, expect job shifts outside the U.S. to continue.
It's a shame to watch all the jobs moving away to Mexico. I'll laugh if the cartel gets involved or a war breaks out, serves them right. 😂
Ford could have move engineering work to other countries many years ago. At least 20. There must be a reason why it doesn’t work out and this crop of sociopaths don’t know it.

There are private meetings regarding personnel happening this week. My recommendation is to avoid unnecessary purchases to hold a cash reserve. These a--hole leaders have no idea what they are doing, and to make their ROI look better they are going to cull the heard. Too many heads, too many programs cancelled or deferred in Model E. All this because leaders like Doug and Jim have no idea WTF they are doing. They have been inspired by Elon’s mass layoff…

there was an article about that, but it was talking about stellantis. it said on average the people overseas making $53,000 year. claiming employees here making upto $150,000 to do the same job. everyone moving the white collar jobs to mexico, india, bazil. it will come to the point no one will be left here but upper management.
