"Good job doing security. Also have the awareness how easily it can be comprised, as not all equipment is smart."

What? Why didn't BLL stop the Zero-Day attack on all of their Palo Alto firewalls CVE-2024-3400? If they cannot protect their own stuff then why would anyone buy BLL as a service?

For those who are experts on infosec, is BL "the holy grail" for ensuring invaders from "the outside in--global" cannot enter the network?
Kate makes it sound this way. Inquiring minds need to know.

KJ likes to hype the BS, like so many others do there. Standard playbook stuff when your company is failing. The hype is because KJ is teeing up to sell off another big portion of the business.

BLL cannot do jack Fn squat with Crystals Kyber or Saber encryption. The best BLL can do is like what it has been doing, re-identifying the re-use of old malware. BLL is not bad in premise but it costs way too much for what it actually does. Using the native security services in AWS, Azure, and GCP is way better and costs way less.

The brief but intense activity detected by Lumen shows the hackers trying to retake control of various devices between Dec. 8 and 11, leading the researchers to believe the U.S. had stepped in just beforehand to jettison the cyberspies. The first warrant was signed Dec. 6, noting that infected hardware was present in the Southern District of Texas and five other unnamed districts.

Wray and other intelligence community heavyweights gave a stark warning to lawmakers last week that China-backed hacking activities against the U.S. have reached a new level of complexity, and that the federal government must work with private-sector partners to deter Beijing-sponsored cyber threats amid broader diplomatic tensions between the two nations.

https://www.nextgov.com/cybersecurity/2024/02/recent-us-operations-rendered-chinese-backed-hackers-support-system-inert-research-finds/393988/

Black Lotus Labs has tracked the use of HiatusRat for years, reporting last year that it was being used to target routers in reconnaissance operations against a U.S. military procurement system and organizations in Taiwan. It was previously tied to attacks on hundreds of organizations in Europe and Latin America.
Black Lotus Labs warned that Cuttlefish is the “latest evolution” in passive eavesdropping malware for edge networking equipment. The ability to eavesdrop and hijack data in the way Cuttlefish does “has seldom been observed.”

The specific targeting of cloud-based authentication material is also a concern defenders will have to prepare for, the researchers explained, noting recent campaigns by Russian hackers and Chinese groups.

From the CEO's own mouth, the CEO who just bought shares bringing her aggregate number to over 9MM or almost one percent of the Company.

Of course, she could be fabricating all of this, as Lumen's predecessor company, Level 3 Communications, has been accused of telling many tall tales over the decades which didn't come into fruition.

Place your bets!

Thanks. So a couple of things. The first is the Slide 6 shows the digital platform NaaS, ExaSwitch, edge, fabric and security. That is a significant opportunity for growth across all those capabilities, not something we're ready to report on. As we look to become a growth company, we're maniacally focused on delivering customer value, that's about making sure we delight every single customer one at a time and bring them in the door. And we're going to focus on our key metric internally is customer adoption.

That's why I shared, we're across 20 different industries, because the number of industries we can get to and then 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 20th, 25th customer, you start to go faster in each one and you get some momentum and critical mass for scale. So we're excited about the progress, lots more to do. But this is the future of the company and it represents net new profit pools and available marketplaces that Lumen didn't have access to before in the tens of billions across each one of these spaces, some in the hundreds of billions. And so we're excited at the opportunity.

Black Lotus Labs is without a doubt a not so secret we-pon, and they have helped keep the country safe. Their value is incredible and we're incredibly proud to have them in our portfolio. The reason why they're so valuable is because they see our network traffic and the capabilities that we're developing and launching in Lumen Defender, take their patented data models and basically enable those to be available in an integrated fashion with our network. Nobody else is doing that right now. So we're excited about the potential value and you will see them as an integral part of our team moving forward.

Finally, we're taking a major step forward in security innovation by launching an exciting new subscription service that leverages patented AI powered IP based threat detection and prevention capabilities from Lumen's very own Black Lotus Labs. In the second half of 2024, this security service called Lumen Defender will be broadly available on our NaaS and DIA connections, enabling enterprise customers to have more secure connectivity as we help identify and block threats at the network level.

Ajit tells Berkshire owners he won't write "cyber security insurance." Why would he with so much MONEY TO LOSE on behalf of Berkshire Shareholders!

Buy Lumen, and defend the U.S. Internet Network from Cyber Attacks.

That's when they will WRITE Cyber Security Insurance, with NOTHING TO LOSE in order to accumulate TWO NEW FORTUNES; one in Lumen, one in Cyber Security Insurance.

For us who know nothing after 26 years of doing time on the Level3/Lumen Rock, what's most exciting is the BL Subscription Model but even looking forward to a mandatory, regulated charge for every U.S. internet subscriber to have their internet "scrubbed, cleaned, or defended."

We are as proud as Kate that Lumen is defending America from hacks abroad, Chinese or others.

When this happens, even excluding the tsunami of AI generated broadband demand for Naas, Exaswitch and edge services that nobody else holds "proprietary gifts"--patented as well--to "deliver," the HORRIBLE--do you know Trump like I know him?--shorts who cross over from their caves out of ugly Wall Street onto places like this to create further FUD for their "trade," will finally be annihilated.

We look forward to this day soon as well.

Another way to look at it is a girl scout who is eating her own hand made cookies while not being afraid to die by doing so because she is certain the ingredients inside the cookies that she makes are the highest quality for ensuring maximum health to herself as well as others in the troop and outside who will buy them.

I am looking forward to see what "new customers" feel confident in buying Kate's cookies, including Warren E. Buffett in Omaha as soon as tomorrow.
