Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Progressive is HIRING - Jump the sinking State Farm ship

Progressive is hiring 10,000 people in a new report released this week.

Unlike State Farm which is struggling to maintain their competitive advantage and in a continued cycle of layoff and outsourcing since 2018, Progressive has their strategy together.

State Farm will continue to layoff and outsource their employees in order to keep executive bonuses high.

It is a sign that since 2018 State Farm is slashing employees, a sign they are slowly failing. They are not done slashing.

The world of work just su-ks right now. If you want to leave….just GTF out. State Farm is not sinking, it’s still pulling away from competitors. Ask Warren Buffer. He’s a pretty smart business mind.

They hire the best while we give the keys to IT and AI to a guy that went to terrible colleges barely accredited but can pull the wool over central Illinois locals gone lucky. Thankfully we have a new ceo that can see through that. Take your office supply ethos to dollar tree

Progressive is trying to be a good employer it seems, while SF wants to be the opposite. Granted, a couple of years ago that was GIECO, and they went and sold off all that for some short term profit gain. Might be worth it to see what progressive has to offer while State Farm decides on new ways to make their roles less enjoyable and pleasant. At this point it really does feel like State Farm is just totally unwilling to try to address turnover beyond millions and millions of surveys.

agreed with that take on the hubs vs LOC. LOC had some of the best jobs in town, but in a hub, youll struggle with rent while having to have a roomate, and with the extra stress of the industry, and how much less (not much) other call center jobs with no BS are....its a bad deal for entry level at least. Plus over the last 5 years theyve basically turned and burned a huge portion of these hubs labor force.

Im not going to lie, working for one of our on the up competitors is appealing in itself. It gets old hearing i need to do more with less for 10+ years, watching a lovely work place turn into a nasty toxic place to be, by intention too.

@3nlh It feels like shady stuff goes on meant to force people out. They always try something new every other year. Now it seems like they target certain people and slam them in the a-s with work, then threaten to fire them for having too much assigned to them. Psychotic sickos.

Worst thing State Farm ever did was close the LOCs and start only hiring in hubs.

The quality of employees in Birmingham or Murfreesboro or Jacksonville were so much better than what you get in Dallas or Atlanta or Phoenix because this is a GOOD JOB in Murfreesboro or Birmingham.

In Atlanta or Dallas it is totally a mediocre job that does not pay you enough to live there and you can easily find a job with similar pay and benefits so there’s no incentive to stay or try hard.

The same person posting multiple times in this thread (and most here) trying to appear inflammatory. Just ignore him.

I will say, state farm would benefit from actually trying to retain its workers, which ive heard its planning to for the last 5 years but yet to see any honest action in doing that. Sadly I feel the company is still stuck in the "drive out as many as possible" game plans. So the boat first needs to turn around before it moves forward. They should consider turning the boat around, and then moving forward, sooner than later.

If you people hate my magnificent company so much by all means, apply to Progressive. I simply do not understand why you people do not unwind by relaxing at your lake houses. My amazing VP son and I visit mine whenever we feel a touch stressed. Get your acts together and buy your own lake houses.

Be like them. Take care of yourself. SF was never like that before but now they are not recognizable or even close to what they once were based on what they called "business decisions." They believe you are a minion and are not capable of making a business decision. It may be well worth looking into for your business decision.

@ths Who are you? Nobody in Claims can do this stuff you’re describing. The people monitoring and “analyzing” stuff probably can though. Stop posting your troll trash.

Why would I leave? I work from home and enjoy life. Watch Netflix all day and post on Facebook. Will Progressive let me do that or will they expect me to work? Pass.
