Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Q1 Earnings

Nothing to brag about. I don't see how this company can last more than a year or two with revenues declining like they have been.

Q1 numbers were bad no matter what pixie dust they try to coat it with. As was noted by the other poster the free cash flow was actually negative but it landed on paper positive due to a tax refund. The cash is gonna be wasted just as they have done in the past. Lumen should use some free cash to buyback shares. Employees should be warned that there is already more RIF on KJ agenda. Funny how they tried to put lipstick on the Q1 bad numbers by releasing some cr-p sales ad trying to hype Black Lotus Labs. Bottom line is the customers they are desperately seeking can get everything they need from competitors at much lower costs. The hole in the Titanic cannot be patched up and it's just a slow trip to the bottom. The late share buying yesterday was just some shorts getting in on the bad Q1 report. It will be back below $1.00 soon.

Lumen will be stumping on the accelerator to layoff in big numbers to offset the disappointing earnings.

The free cash flow number is 518 million because of a 700 million tax refund which we got because of divestment. So fcf was actually negative 200 million.

Apparently the free cash flow number was a positive one. And this is supposed to be the worst quarter of the year. So the results arent as bad as you would think.

Cutting your way to growth has worked 0% of the time for every company that has ever tried it, yet here we are.

The continual drip, drip, drip of customers leaving is not a sustainable business model. There really is no alternative rather than to lay off your workers. At one time we had over 80,000. When we merged with Level 3 it was 50,000. Now it's around 25,000. Kinda reminds me of the old ATT- it no longer exists. But in the early 90's it was lead by Robert Allen. The running punchline was the ATT stood for Allen and 2 temps.

Kate probably still gonna go in her cheerleading mode everything is great and we are headed in the right direction as planned. Haha all the while in reality stock has tanked since she took over with no sign up a major uptick, thousands of families impacted, nearly 2 years in we aren’t any better and no real hope in site

"How many days outstanding are bills payable to Lumen?" Not sure about that one, but last week saw several emails come across from one of our carrier partners that we were past due with them almost $600,000, and that may be the tip of the iceberg that will sink the ship.

Kate seemed to think that shedding staff was a good thing. Easy for her to say, since she's shedded so many over the past months, and it doesn't affect her family. She'll still be able to pay her bills and go on summer vacations.....
