Cordani's Vitality Index

https://newsroom.thecignagroup.com/david-cordani-boston-college-ceo-club-vitality

“The Vitality Index is a comprehensive measure to understand overall vitality – what every one of us wants for our loved ones – a vital, complete, highly engaged life,” Cordani said. “It measures physical health, mental health, spiritual health, financial health, et cetera. And what we have learned from it is that vitality in the United States has plateaued.”

David, do you have enough self-awareness to comprehend that your actions are directly damaging the vitality of your employees? What do you plan to do to correct this?

"But because they are in the health care sector, there should be more accountability." there should be maybe, but there isn't. This is the problem with publicly traded for-profit health care companies, and why many people support a singularly-funded, Medicare for all type approach to health coverage!

But because they are in the health care sector, there should be more accountability. It's a matter of time when the regulations and punishments will build up for Cigna and similar companies.

True, but it doesn't mean that lies should not be brought to light. Accountability is a big stretch for ELT, and I'm sure they'd rather have words/actions misalignments be just left alone.

That's fine. Tired of the lies that there is some greater purpose. It's about the bottom line, own it.

“The only reason we do anything is because it might increase profit.”

Y’all could benefit from spending 10 minutes reading up on what a public corporation is. Cigna owes a fiduciary duty to its shareholders. Full stop. Whether that’s right or wrong, that’s how it is. You act like it’s a “gotcha!!!” moment to say all Cigna cares about is profits when that’s literally their duty in the current American economy. The idea that companies should benefit society at large has been out for decades. Want change? Vote for it!!!!

Speaking of Mike Triplett, I just noticed this from the website below: "In January 2024, Mike Triplett was named Special Advisor to the CEO ahead of his planned retirement from the company at the end of the year." There have been so many ELT reorgs lately. I thought maybe because David Cordani could be leaving, but is everyone jumping ship............??

I remember the town hall last year where Cordani talked about a Vitality event where he met with city leaders, priest, prominent business leaders and was asked why they would do something like this when helping people have more vitality seemed against the business model. And Cordani said it was because we care. I was in the audience and struggled not to audibly laugh. The only reason we do anything is because it might increase profit. People with more vitality are healthier and have less claims and a Cigna gets to keep more of the premium. It’s gross, but a rare case of corporate profit being gained by improving lives. Meanwhile the vitality of most employees is going down the drain. They don’t care though since we can all be replaced by Indians in Hyderabad getting paid $3 an hour. And by the time the company is past the breaking point Cordani will have retired among the elite top .5%, a group of people who need to have everything taken away because they don’t deserve it after all the damage they have caused.

David Cordani, if you are reading all these posts, how can you live with your self knowing that you are literally destroying so many lives of your employees and customers!!!!!

I used to really take pride in my job at Cigna and I no longer feel that way.

You and all of the higher-ups need to start treating your employees better or you’re gonna lose your company

They will need to do a randomized control study to see how much a rise in Type 2 diabetes diagnoses, clinical depression, and high LDL cholesterol levels are associated with David Cordani.
