Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Which Roles Are Production Roles?

Does anybody know which roles are production role and allowed to work from home? Is there a list somewhere?

Where can we find our designation (in office, office aligned/no space, work from home, etc)? Is it in Workday under Job Details - Location? Will it specifically say "office aligned" or "Work from home"?

My workday says WAH but last my boss has told me was I was office aligned, did he just not update me? If I was really office aligned will it say that in workday, or does it also say WAH and we'rejust supposed to know if that really means office aligned and i could be called in at any time?

my Workday shows WAH, yet ServiceNow shows location as virtual, but work designation as IPOA. I don't think everyone is in ServiceNow, so where do they find it? Where is ServiceNow pulling it from?

Yes, management told my team (band 3s & 4s) in a meeting that our WAH status would not be changing, and we show WAH in our Workday profile as well as the directory. The same happened with a band 4 friend in a different area.

Did everyone hear from your manager if you are in office aligned from June? Did anyone of your designation changed from in office aligned to remote? Lol! I am being too greedy :(

Is every minute of your day carefully tracked so that your supervisor could easily identify when you took a BM? If the answer is no I believe you are not on production.

Still here… I’ve witnessed several long term (over 15 years) colleagues that were assigned in office in March and they were laid off in February.
So who knows! At the end of the day, every person is a $$$$ and how they make money off of us varies.

  1. For example, they get enough of us annoyed that we leave and they don’t have to pay us severance — CHA CHING!

Hence, why they keep making the future of work even more uncomfortable.
Behavioral Health is infamous for it - living the dream right now! They think they sold a good transformation strategy they’re clueless!! I’m sure I’m next!

"They are clearly assigning only expendable employees to an office."

Careful with blanket statements like that. Zero evidence backing that up in my corner of the company.

That's interesting. It was basically the opposite on my team. The people assigned to in-office roles were the roles they really wanted to keep. And then there were the rest of us who got WAH but then basically became the team do-it-alls. Suddenly, we were thrust into doing tasks that weren't within our roles, and it was marketed as upskilling and future-proofing with job descriptions to come. The lack of role definition has led to several team members leaving for other defined roles or exiting the company entirely. One WAH member who left had their role replaced with one of the onsite roles redefined to what they were telling us all along we would become. Hard not to read that as they'd rather we leave so they can shift their roles to onsite and define the job description differently.

@sjz+1sh8vbAX, that’s interesting. So people called in office are in the hitlist ? But wouldn’t firing remote employees be easier to avoid face to face interaction ?

Roles that can easily be tracked like the call center, UM, and Coaching that use tracking software like Verint, Intradiem, MOS and other means. They have metric dashboards for productivity. I have not seen an actual list.

Roles don’t have a designated location.
Employees do.

My team has 12 people.
9 of us have been designated WFH despite many of us being within the office buffer zones.
3 of us were assigned an office despite having no other teammates in those 3 offices.
The 3 members assigned to an office are the weakest employees in our group.

They are clearly assigning only expendable employees to an office.
