Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

RTO Update Today

Update on the RTO process just came out today, but still not much information for those remote employees no where near a HUB or a client center.

I feel bad for middle managers having to enforce this stupid policy.

My manager doesn’t want me to waste time commuting, but she said she doesn’t have any voice in it.

All morales down

Our group was told our required location, but on a different floor at US Bancorp Center in a ‘first come, first served’ hotel environment.

3 days per week, we are required to be in the office, bringing everything we need (laptop, mouse, headset, etc.) every single day, as we can’t leave anything inside the office each day.

Also, our formerly remote coworkers who live 33-35 miles from the office, were told they too are required to drive in, even though the ‘limit’ for remote vs hybrid is 30 miles.

My coworker has NO IDEA how they measured her drive, Google Maps, Apple, etc., all indicate her drive between 32.9 and 34.3 miles but her Manager says their ‘hands are tied’ because they didn’t determine the route, nor know how it was done.

Their Manager’s Manager got involved and basically said it ‘would be better to su-k it up for the time being vs complaining as one never knows what may happen’.

Our group was hit pretty hard in multiple rounds of layoffs last fall and this spring, so for now, she is doing exactly that.

Apparently, upper management believes her spending 65-70 mins in the car vs working, is a better use of her time.

Her immediate manager told her to badge in 3 days a week and leave about 2pm to beat traffic home.

So at least her manager is trying to help but upper management is completely out of their minds.

There was a communication sent out telling us not to talk to anybody?? Was it an email?

YES this is all senior management miscommunication, even immediate managers are caught in the cross fire of their miscommunication. January they tell everyone who had a desk in Riverbank they’ll need to start reporting to Hopkins, now just today some are told they need to be in Energy Park starting now. but direct communication says 30 days from now. They are so concerned we are speaking to the media telling them how bad management f’d up that now they send out communication not to talk to anyone outside the company or else be fired.

Yep if they treat their employees like this, how can the bank customers ever think they’ll do right by them, sorry to say but if I were a customer I’d run so far and fast from
US Bank. It’s sad when you don’t want anyone to know you work for this local company and I have never refer anyone to open an account with the bank. I alway say there’s better options to personal account and loans. I’m so glad never promoted such a crazy company,

The Work Force Strategy team is spewing out communications because they know that the masses want to hear something. But they’re not telling us anything. They’ll be lucky if they get 50% of the hubs completed by the end of the year. And oh by the way, you’re going to be in a hub location with no updates to it. Because there is no money to do anything.

I think most of realize this isn’t our managers doing. My manager rather I stay remote since none of my teammates work in same locations. This is all Senior Executives decision, based on input from Consultant McKinsey. This RTO plan is nothing more than McKinsey telling AC this is the best way to get people to quit so AC can earn more compensation due to not having to pay severance. What a culture

I am still Remote, but imagine they would love that I quit. I am not client facing. My nearest hub is several hours away. They've made it clear no advancement chances if remote, but who wants to get into management?

But, be kind to your managers. It's the Execs that are the issue.

Also, can AC please confirm to the standard signature, like the rest of us?

This latest update was just as unhelpful as the last update. More talk confirming the RTO mandate but no updates about other hubs outside of headquarters. I haven't had a chance to read the updated FAQ but I hope that there is new hub specific info.

Every RTO update is a mess. Still very little information other than they expect everyone to RTO and they ain’t changing their mind.

Anyone see that your location is set in stone? So if you live near ia location that’s 1 mile away, and they put you in some dangerous location that’s 28 miles away, you can’t request change from further away and dangerous location where you might get car jacked and beaten up.
