Overheard was the plan to layoff most or all H1B employees and replace them with workers in Ireland and Hyderabad. Sounds like a rumor, but since Cigna is laying off to cut costs and sponsorship costs are high for the employer, it seems like something they would do. Anyone know anything?

It's to the lowest point that I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Cigna will start random dr-g test of all employees just as another initiative to reduce headcount.
The current H1B visa holders do not align with the genuine requirements of American companies. They are predominantly engaged in managerial tasks, which are not essential for the company to seek H1B visa holders. I have observed H1B employees in our organization for nearly 15 years, and they have consistently proven to be valuable assets. However, the recent H1B hires, especially those recruited during or after the pandemic, seem to prioritize proving their managerial capabilities over contributing effectively to the company. Unfortunately, they often fail to show basic respect towards their colleagues. The root of this issue lies with the management, who are willing to assign managerial responsibilities to these H1B employees while disregarding the contributions of other team members.
“I am on H1B. Got laid off yesterday”
Are you the contractor?
I am on H1B. Got laid off yesterday.
Some evil sh-t.
I have heard those two 'hubs' will not ultimately be good for any contractors.
