What’s really going to happen if we don’t badge in 3 times a week to the office? I would like to work from home today because I am falling behind on work as I cannot get anything done in office.

I don't know what you are all complaining about.
Back when quarantine started to wrap up and we were trickling back into the office, three coworkers and I planned out a nice badge scam.
We would take turns - one person would go into the office one day a week and bring the other three badges. That person would scan all four. Then the next week another person would bring all four badges and scan them. And so on. We only had to go in one day per month!!
We still do this today.
You should all be doing this!
Your commute time is not the concern of Ford Motor Company. You choose where you live. You are expected to come into the office. You deal with the consequences of a long commute.
Pull yourselves up by your bootstraps already!!
When I started at the plant 30 years ago, we didn't complain about having to come in every day! We even loved when we would get overtime! You younger people are shameful when you act so entitled.
I worked hard for 30 years and our recent UAW contract has me making over 100k per year with my seniority. I install lugnuts all day and make 100 grand. I own a beautiful Ford F150 and my house is paid off and I have two rental properties!
That's the American Dream!!
You can all do that too!!
Gosh, we hope nobody gets their feelings hurt.
Is it true that we will be asked to go 4 days a week starting in September??
You WILL badge in and you will like it ? Any questions ?
When you work for pathetic companies
You habe to follow the rules set by their pathetic leaders.
@wup+1sdu1sKh. Gosh, wouldn't it be great for the environment if no one drove anywhere? Believe it or not, but Ford likes people to use and wear out their cars, purchase parts, and buy new cars. Employees, family members, or other customers - the more people wearing out vehicles the better. Work or school commuting represents a substantial amount of miles driven. Do you really think a car company is going to be big on work at home? Go work at a telecommunications company.
You are fired!!!
When they outsourced an entire engineering section to Brazil and the back to office requirement came out I just chuckled.
You shouldn’t be worried about this. I’m currently getting my sailboat ready to spend the summer working from it. I told my boss when the mandate came that they are free to fire me, and as expected, they granted the exception.
I have no problem going to the office/lab/vehicle testing as requested, but I won’t do it for a “badge count”.
This is 3rd grade attendance BS.
Making thousands of us commute to the office everyday is great for the environment. LOL
Bill is a hypocrite.

Layoffs, you mean upcoming job transfers to Mexico.
Stop using your "global Warming" excuses to cover for your laziness.
If you are not capable enough to get your work done during the day at the office, you are free to get it done in the evening at home. Or, you can just not get things done, and see how that works out for you.
Working remotely is far better for the environment than having everyone driving to and from the office.
Doesn't Ford care about the Earth?
Are their CRE buddies more important than saving the planet?
@vgz, bang on. They will be sitting there whining about how tough it was at Ford and then move on to say, "yea, and everywhere else I applied wants me in the office full time. I want my mommy".
Hit the bricks pal, cause you are going out. And you what you’ll be saying? A bunch of losers sitting around in a bar. “Oh yeah, I used to work at Ford. It’s a tough racket”
It seems to me that management values badging in at the office more highly than getting the work done. The OP should follow the attendance directive to the letter and tell his supervisor that reduced productivity is the cost of following that rule.
I've been into the office less than half of the required 3 day per week, so apparently nothing "immediate" will happen. My guess is that they might use it to lower your PR at the end of the year if you are not a TA.
I personally believe they will use that “list” as a starting point on how to identify who to cut for the upcoming layoffs.
