Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Warning: Toxic Work Environment Alert

Despite not facing layoff yet, I'm in an uncomfortable position, contemplating resignation, waiting for termination, or hoping for a layoff to receive my tenured severance. I'm overwhelmed with tasks beyond my expertise, despite repeatedly asking for assistance, and dealing with bullying behavior from a colleague of high rank. Despite my efforts to improve the situation, I've been informed that my performance rating will suffer regardless. If you're not in a good place here, it's wise to leave. If considering joining, think twice. Poor management tarnishes the potential for this company to positively impact its employees, members, and patients. Emotions are frowned upon, creating a toxic environment.

I love their idea of what "shared services" comprises of...We are now expected to work all LOB in claims operations but when you reach out to a lead in another department for another LOB in a different state that you were never trained to work in you get the "we aren't supposed to help analysts that are not under our department" meanwhile our leads/SSA/Sup can't answer us either because they don't know. WTF is that? Seasoned analysts expecting to magically know other states with no training or support - none of which are meeting CPH or this ridiculous "availability" metric means 1 thing and 1 thing only - they are absolutely setting everyone up to fail resulting in coachings & PIP - so they can terminate without having to pay out severance.

DO NOT TALK TO H.R. They are NOT your friend. Call a lawyer immediately.

AttAttempting to collaborate with human resources and all levels of leadership to determine if a resolution can be reached. To be determined. If action is taken now, it is definitely retaliatory, as I suspected.

This was exactly why I quit end of December 2023. Unfair and unequal work loads being given out. Watch out for your manager if you try to speak up or challenge Anything! Total Micromanagement on the part of the manager who only wants to look good! No time given for questions, because Lead is working from spreadsheets that have hundreds of claims, HOWEVER all claims have the same problem so they can fly through them and make their numbers look fantastic while trouble makers (anyone who speaks up) or on a PIP gets the difficult and lengthy claims. They are going to be out soon anyway so who cares, unfortunately that’s the vibe that is given.

This is my exact situation, I never know what I may be logging onto each day depending on my superiors mood. I’m made out as an incompetent employee who is not meeting goals (which change constantly).

I feel like I could have written this. I feel like we are working in silos and discouraged from seeking help because everyone is overwhelmed due to picking up slack after attrition and layoffs.
