It is not a secret that areas of Claims and Personal Injury will be moving to Concentrix and potentially other vendors in the not too distant future. And many Allstaters in other areas were force moved from Allstate employees to employees of the vendors in order to keep their positions. I was wondering what are the pros and cons of your forced movement to vendor employees? How is the atmosphere? Is it any easier to take PTO? Is the culture less toxic? After the fact was it for the better? Looking for details and experiences since many of us may be in the same boat soon. Thanks in advance!

They gotta keep some of us old timers around to clean up the mess that these third world vendors have created for the insurance buying Allstate public. It’s job security, at least until they can edumacate these id--ts. Pun intended.
Customers between the ages of 18-39 don’t care about offshoring of America. 40+ care, but they can’t affect change to return jobs to the USA so they deal with it. The company knows the 40+ set is not who they really want as customers anyway. They especially don’t want those over 65 so if they leave or die all the better for Allstate. Those folks are dying off anyway and if they don’t like the third world customer service no big loss to big All. As said before many times, big All doesn’t care about you, the country, or anyone but shareholders and the executive suite. Work dog work. Build those pyramids and like it. The tally of bricks remains the same no matter how many DEI activities you attend.

Anyone who is tenured I would guess loses all their “accrued time on job” IF you are RIFed re severance (id venture Concentrix or labor lessors dont pay severance, severance is NEVER obligatory its paid as part of a NDA). Youre a ”new employee” so thats a negative. If you have any tiny pension vested that prob goes away (not “away” but stops at point of transfer). ALL back in day was a great company for PTO and know people who stayed onboard because of it, id bet “Concentrix” or whomever wouldnt come close. The payroll scale could be different (aka lower) — ALL thats the incentive to MOVE your labor force.
What has been done since 2020 that hasnt negatively inpacted employees? (before pile on “its a corporation its about shareholder value”yes blah blah blah I think weve all had that reinforced at work and here esp with onset of TG). I hope im wrong but what would be economic sense to move employees to keep labor costs level or have them increase?
If theres a positive to virtual offshoring please share it and im asking genuinely.
Oh the vendor lets me go, I can get unemployment. If I leave on my own with no backup plan, I get nothing. I’ve been through quite a few layoffs. I know how it works.
I have not been moved, however, please consider this: If you are moved to an outside vendor, it is possible you will have NO tenure and little to no severance package. Hoping for layoff may be no different than quitting on our own.
Yeah, I’d like to know too. I’m hoping to be moved and they’ll lay me off!
