Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Carelone vs Elevance Health

Will someone please explain...
What is the relationship between Carelon and Elevance? Are we one company? To my knowledge there has not been anything posted that clearly explains this.
Please don't knock the question...knowledge is power and I am seeking this knowledge.

There is a contractual detailed market specific offshore restrictions list managed by Provider Data Management - Shane Hochradel and Michelle Webb. They handle all the Market Specific Appendices that align policies and procedures for onshore and offshore employees.

Looks like all is now under Carelon...Anthem will officially become Elevance Health on June 28, and, as part of its corporate rebrand, it's also launching new brands for two of its subsidiaries
The insurer will consolidate its healthcare services businesses under one umbrella, called Carelon.

What I really see when I see Carelon- they lay a ton of people off alot. So don’t work there. If I’m browsing for open roles and see it’s on the Carelon side, I move on.

We just had training on migrating VA Medicaid therapy requests from the HP to Carelon, 3 people laid off, probably more to come, heartbreaking. How can a company celebrate making so much profit from a Medicaid product? It's our tax dollars

Elevance health has the same structure as UnitedHealth group (where our CEO once worked). Carlone is the same type of organization that Optum health is to UHG. These types of organizations exist (in some cases) so they can also provide services outside of their own organization....and include prescription services, behavioral health and other types of services.

The thing is, yes CGS is the offshore India/PR/Philippines locations, but for what I can speak to, it’s the managers that are looking to offshore as much as possible, leaving the more intricate things left behind, not to mention not providing proper training or support to those who look after the teams so thus the rework…not saying I agree with any of it, idk if there’s bonuses or anything for managers who find things that can be offshorable (I know one in particular acts as though that is the case). But Carelon itself is seemingly becoming a widely encompassing thing too.

We were ingenio before /some is onshore some is off / There is Carelon - Business side and pharmacy benefit manager that can contract with other companies - like optum is PBM for United healthcare / then there is Carelon rx pharmacy which is a sh!t show that makes people go without medication for months and then offers them a Walmart Giftcard / 10 bucks in store credit is not worth risking your life

@vlk+1sXzsSp4 Elevance Health is a holding company, like Procter & Gamble. Anthem, Carelon, and Wellpoint are the companies under Elevance Health, like Luvs, Tide, Charmin and Pantene are under Procter & Gamble.

Carelon is a division that includes both offshore and onshore. One of the reason we may be considered “separate” is because carelon can sell services to other companies. For example CarelonRx is a division that can also be sold as a PBM to competitors like Aetna.

Tbh- I don’t think even the c-suite knows what they are doing with Carelon- it’s such a mess and seems to change every day. A couple of years ago it was called DBG (diversified business group). But there are restrictions between sharing information between Elevance and Carelon so we don’t give (or get) a competitive advantage over other companies.

Everything falls under Elevance. All one massive organization.

Same company. But there are rules on what data can be shared (take your enterprise firewall training).

Is Carelon offshore only? Can workers onshore be moved to Carelon or is this offshore only?

Also, pull up our CEO on the intranet. Under her you will find PDH (using initials) and start there. That is Carelon.

We are the same company. Take it from someone who has been here since the Anthem to WellPoint back to Anthem and now Elevance. Elevance is the umbrella. Carelon etc fall under that umbrella. I am Carelon .
