Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Chances of UK VR this year?

I have been with DXC for over 20 years. Every day is a struggle and it continues to get worse. The Employees I am having to deal with are demoralised, always negative, and do the bare mimimim to get through the day. I don’t blame employees for being this way, given that they haven’t had pay rises for many years! However, this just adds pressure to staff that still want to deliver, like me!

Working for DXC and having to deal with incompetent staff is affecting my mental health. Having 20+ years service is what is holding me back from leaving, as I don’t want to give this up for nothing!

I am now in a position where enough is enough, and I would gladly take voluntary redundancy if the opportunity allows it.

I believe there is more cost cutting being announced this year. I can only hope that UK voluntary redundancies are part of DXCs plans! Anyone know if this the case?

@OP+1sXbXm7j OMG you guys from the UK are fu-king babies, if you don't like then go find another job if you can! Bet you can't find a job that will pay you what you think your worth and that's why you stay. DXC isn't stupid, they know you're not going anywhere so they don't need to if you an increase.

WAKE Up, go get a another job if you can! I did 2 years ago and have received 3 pay increases , more vacation time than I can use, cheap health care and work the hours I want when I want too

Leaving a company you've worked for, for any length of time can be hard. Especially when that company is DXC. Along with all the uncertainty of a new job, and the thought of having to go into an office every week - actually getting the job will be a challenge. Your new employers wants to know what you will contribute. They want someone with enthusiasm. Someone able to demonstrate they have all the training and have been putting it into practice on the latest technology. How is that possible after even a few years at DXC? You show up totally demoralised, having only worked on out of date systems and processes. You try and explain what your contributing but they soon figure out that's been very little, taking way too long, and despite you saying but that's because of other teams. They say well you're clearly not cut out for the real world. And offer it to some Grad who's a million miles ahead.

So stick with it, take the pay off when it comes, and save your money for an early retirement.

With the take over - will it happen or not could be an UK wide redundancy program and some good pay offs with some decent ££/$$, before BAU and usual tactics in past to pressurize people to leave - e.g., no promotion, no training, no pay rises, etc.

Sorry to ask a silly question: but surely with over 20+ years experience with a Fortune 500, you would be in demand for any company , no? (which btw, most people would dream of having a stable job like that in today’s day and age). Why not go and apply for another company that offers a higher salary and perks etc? Sorry not to offend but actually it’s a compliment. Please educate me.

There is a VR Program active. Ask your senior management. Your manager will like not know.

I have no idea how the company has kept going so long. Colleagues play at being busy, and the moment there's actually any real work they flap about until it's taken out of their hands again. Others who have been here for years, don't seem to know the basics. I agree it's affecting my mental health as well. I have stopped engaging with it all. The only reason there's anyone left is because we can all work from home.
