Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Managed Out, Toxicity Grows

Multiple Teams, Great People, Many Friends, Going above and beyond time and time again and suddenly “ voluntold “ to move with no concern of my personal career goals, or skillset in the position.

Objections noted, Second Objection flat ignored. Third I’m told to post out or resign.
transfer blocked by manager as I haven’t “ met your year commitment “. I didn’t ask or apply to this new position, I was not even given a choice.

Now comes the not so silent PIP process, micromanaging to the 9th degree, unrealistic deadlines, unprofessional behavior, and absolutely zero concern outside of their own internal agenda, and perfectly content running someone’s livelihood.

File with ER, Zero help claiming they haven’t done something unethical, or directly against policy.

HR, Less then absolute zero help.

So I exit on my own terms, 2 weeks and out. Not a single member of my management team said goodbye, good luck, sorry to see you go. Why do the members that are employees get treated so poorly, why is dedication to a position such a looked down upon thing now.

To the the leadership that is “ serving “ our members. Last time I checked the core values were not Toxicity, Disrespect, Deceit, Corruption, Insincerity…. But at present they should be.

I’ve pulled my banking, insurance, investments, for me and my entire extended family. No reason to stay. At present I'd never recommend someone do any business there.

They are systematically removing anyone with a voice or with knowledge...easier to control you and keep you compliant because you "need a job"

It’s narcissistic personality disorder - that is the disease of some (not all) leadership at USAA. There is no competing against them and they will destroy your career. I have been fortunate to have amazing bosses to realize my current Director’s toxicity. They have the brain span of a toddler throwing a tantrum and things will never get better. Her bosses are the same.

No one in a “leadership” role cares about your, your family, or the products and services you utilized. This is the new USAA. Employees are little more than disposable, useful id--ts. You will be replaced by someone with little experience, no loyalty, no passion for serving the military, and a lower salary. USAA, thanks to Joe, Stuart, Peacock and all the big bank / big Wall Street reject executives they onboarded have morphed USAA into another corporate wasteland. The mission has changed from serving our members to serving themselves. Executives now have their own bonus plan, medical coverage, and the freedom to WFH while the disposables (us) have our bonus potential decreased, forced RTO (even if you were WFH before COVID), a medical plan that is equivalent to someone taking a chunk of your paycheck so you can pay 100% of your medical expenses after their “discounted” rate, while hoping GoodRX will discount the price of your prescription that they refuse to cover. The best part, while the “leaders” enrich themselves at the expense of members and employees, those of us who haven’t been laid off yet because we’re 5 or more years away from retirement, are forced to endure a toxic, top down, borderline abusive work environment. The seasoned and loyal employees that have dedicated years and decades to this company and our members are leaving in droves. It’s cool that USAA got to celebrate 100 years, because it won’t be around for its 200 year birthday.

Sorry you got sc--wed by Peacocks dirty, overused, corporate Wall Street political di--o. Call the EEOC to see if you have any recourse, you probably don’t, but don’t go out without a fight.
