I decided to pull the plug. Even if the future was rosy and the workplace situation was ideal. I just can’t do this anymore. I’m completely burnt out. Looking back, I have a feeling now that one year of working here was like three years elsewhere in terms of exhaustion. Just compressed stress. I wish I had the wisdom to leave this place earlier. Good luck to the rest of you, guys.

Where are you going?
@sun+1sTTeyix Dream on.
So you have a bs ranking system too? Thought it was just my department
Wait until profits plunge and the heat really turns up. Get out now before the glass house comes crashing down.
I felt the same way. It was like a switch was flipped. I no longer liked what I was working on and didn’t see that changing (believe me I tried).
I bided my time for a bit, no longer caring and just waiting for the next VBO. This bothered me as I am not that type of person.
Eventually the stress, not enjoying it any longer and the forced RTO after working remotely for years made the final decision easier.
Have not looked back and do not miss it at all.
Hope this helps some. Good luck and trust your gut.
Good luck to you and totally understand. It is a high demand environment. Possibly take a couple weeks off and disconnect and then assess? Make sure you are making the best decision. Current job market is not welcoming.
It takes wisdom and courage to write that. It took a while for me to process all the demoralization and filth I put up with working at Fidelity for years. But after leaving that toxic environment, I found that I was able to be more present for myself and for my family and that has made all the difference. Good luck to you on your journey.
