Anyone else over gaslighting from management? Anyone else have to deal with entitled AM’s who constantly cry wolf and are just downright disrespectful and we are basically just told we have to deal with it?

worst gaslighted has already left...Jay Johnson of former Sirius exec. His whole modus operandi was making a world safe for a$$h0les. Anyone he hired in a leadership role be afraid be v e r y afraid. Even their b.s. is b.s.
“Not true. Those guys are good people under tremendous amount of pressure to perform and they care about the good people in the business, all while trying to save jobs and please customers. This said, their performance probably could be better and their attitudes probably stink because the company has hamstrung them with the worst processes and tools imaginable and utter stupidity plus paralysis from up above and down below that makes it nearly impossible to run the business. For instance, they can't fire hot-heads like you who are almost certainly underperforming without a supreme court decision AND an act of god, or a layoff that wrecks morale. CDW is completely soft and weak when it comes to people. It may even be the ultimate downfall but for now that works in your favor.”
This is spot on and why so many of us happily moved on! Good people at CDW but impossible to do what needs to be done!
Moved along to places where we can get things done, be productive and really serve customers!
"Kory Thaut, Andy James, and it has trickled down to those reporting to them. They completely ruined pro-services. They lie constantly with a straight face and make the most horrendous calls for the practices. If you ask clarifying questions, they see it as a threat. Kory will especially bully and belittle and when things go south, he relies on talking cr-p about the managers reporting up to him, saying he can only do so much with them"

That leadership style is not limited to DV, its pervasive throughout other areas of the company
Absolutely, I am over it! I have to say that in DV, our management is FULL of gaslighters. Kory Thaut, Andy James, and it has trickled down to those reporting to them. They completely ruined pro-services. They lie constantly with a straight face and make the most horrendous calls for the practices. If you ask clarifying questions, they see it as a threat. Kory will especially bully and belittle and when things go south, he relies on talking cr-p about the managers reporting up to him, saying he can only do so much with them. These guys (and gal) in management are absolute jokes. But at least teams that they 'lead' get to have a good laugh every day.
I have experienced and have heard of many others who have experienced the sheer lack of respect for account managers and also the fear that upper management instills in anyone underneath them if they criticize anything that’s going on. Bullying is pretty damn close to what these “leaders” do if someone doesn’t stay in their lane and speaks up. These middle managers and most directors are a joke and will stay in their positions as long as possible for the power trip and that’s it. What a horrendous work culture that only continues to get worse. This company is failing beyond belief in leadership.
Agreed, there are people like that in most departments. This is the only company I’ve worked where dept leaders are allowed to do whatever they want without consequences.
Talking to management won’t help, they don’t care or don’t want to deal with it. You’re better off keeping your mouth shut or you’ll be looking for a new job, and that’s the way they want it!
"Gaslighting by management not so much, but rude and disrespectful AM’s fairly constant in my day to day. Usually happens when we can’t move at the speed of light, or say no gosh forbid. "
I wouldn't necessarily label this as gaslighting. They are under pressure sure. But who isn't? You are absolutely right about the disrespectful behavior that happens from SOME of them. Not all of them are like this. There's more good than bad.
"Gaslighting" is now used almost as casually as "bullying." The sense of victimhood is palpable. I recommend having open, face-to-face conversations with the people you have issues with, as HR training suggests, and escalating to management if necessary. The sales force is under constant pressure to deliver results quickly, so always try to understand their perspective before labeling them. If your concerns are valid, report them. End of story.

Yes, i had my director introduce me to another manager who was impressed with the awards i'd won and tried to convince him i was using some forbidden password tool to alienate me from being trusted. The sheer audacity of left me nonplussed. To be fair to cdw they took away that diectors stripes and made him a sr manager. Even so. this sr manager runs his department with fear and discourages speaking up.
Not all of them are like that but quite a few can be. Its like that on all teams no matter the role there's always someone who's a lunatic and feels they are above the rules. But yeah its absurd. And we are often laughing at them privately =)
