Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

RTO email

So, now people are returning back to the office as mandated. Now, they are complaining because people are claiming cubes as their own. Ya, we want to be able to go back and have our own space each day and not have to wonder where we are going to sit. What's the point of going back to be with your group when you and your group are spread out all over the place. You may as well be home. Who are the yahoos coming up with all these decisions. I hope the turf wars continue and they just go back to the way it was pre covid.

RTO could have been implemented much better but Dell is no worse than other tech companies with regard to this policy. Just ask the folks at Twitter (oops I mean X) and Tesla

projection at it's best. Never understood people who think slacking is only relegated to wfh.

when i went into the office before RTO it was filled with boomers. Same ones who left their house back in the day with a briefcase, fedora, and a newspaper rolled under their arms.

It looked like a retirement home. For them just BEING IN THE OFFICE was half the job requirement.

Dell stock dropped 17% yesterday. I'm glad I don't work there anymore.

I live in a major city, so literally none of those things apply. But keep making an ar-e of yourself with your assumptions.

Lol...looks like someone hit a nerve with the WFHers. I'm sure there was lots of dog walking, gardening, yard work, grocery shopping, house cleaning, and home repairs being done during the "work day" ;)

I think the only people claiming that remote workers slack off are the one's who slacked off themselves. Remote work existed for many of us pre-covid. I put it in more hours a week than I care to. Being a global resource, I'm on calls starting at 5AM, and as late as 9PM. A commute, along with trying to find a free desk everyday, would cut into my productivity, not add to it. Not to mention, not a single person I work with is located in my "home" office. Stop trying to frame remote workers as lazy, all it does is show how YOU likely acted during your COVID WFH days.

Crying about having to work 3 days a week y'all worked far less than that when you retreated to your bunkers during covid. No more robbing the company blind, no more disappearing for appointments (use you PTO like the rest of us), show up and be accountable.
Welcome back, slackers.

MD allowed JC to take and run with this RTO bs....notice how MD to this day has not made ANY comment whatsoever about RTO. Hes getting ready to cash out for good and let JC fully take over and everyone with a thimblefull of common sense knows that RTO is all about JC being a control freak and nothing to do with the good of the company or its employees

Super easy solution. Dell should not be such a terrible company. Significant number of jobs are remote. Dell should pick a side. That’s their problem. All story with nothing behind it

Probably because they want more to quit. Don't rule out incompetence.
