Anyone have any personal experience with filing a wrongful termination case against USAA?

Best to get specific legal advice in your state.
Ignore at-will status and other discouragement. That makes things harder, but they aren't absolutes.
Then collect your specifics
- Are you part of a protected group - age, s-x, race...
- Were you given a reason for termination? Getting rid of you for no reason is tough to fight in at-will, but when they give a reason it is basis to fight.
- Is the reason valid? Be honest.
- Can you show the reason(s) are invalid via evidence or discovery?
Your best tactic, other than listening to the attorney, is to focus on a settlement. Labor law is time consuming and you lose dragging it out. And, of course, consider the media. They get millions of requests from all sorts - most are whiny, poorly thought out revenge asks. And some media outlets have USAA as an advertiser. But a well framed, clear 30 second story that prompts a reaction? Maybe.

Can you share what the claim was? Perhaps, it can benefit those experiencing a similar situation and give them courage to pursue.
Ugh now I understand why my ex has filed a bunch of disability accomodations.
Good luck y'all I left 4 years ago, best wishes.
USAA gets away with a lot with Texas being “at will,” but that doesn’t mean they’re untouchable as they have lost wrongful termination suits and forced to payout 7 figures in damages.
Go media!!!!!
ROFLLLLLLLLLL. If your first name starts with J, shut it bully. Gladly testify against you with evidence, so will three other employees.
I’ve found someone to take mine. Violated protected class and have documentation.
My experience is no one will take the case unless you have some sort of ADA violation or something. At will really means at will and there are NO protections.
Depends on why you were terminated, as an at will employee in TX and FL they can pretty much let you go for anything without repurcussions as they did to me. You would have to prove that you were discriminated against under a Federal protected class. The best thing you can do at this point is file a complaint with the EEOC, call a few lawyers and go from there. Aside from that, not much else you can do but move on and tell everyone you know not to do business with these mo--ns.
This is more of a violation of federal and state laws under the ADA with proof.
They have an entire floor plate for this type of thing...unless finding and joining a class action for a certain something to keep a yob if that was a stipulation of any kind and you suffered issues because of it...js
