For those on production down time is treated as a personal failure rather than a company failure and is highly scrutinized. My applications have been getting progressively worse with every upgrade.
There's little chance there will be layoffs in my area but a kid can dream. I'm quitting in the fall so searching for a new job at the moment isn't prudent.
