It has started. In know of 3 people put on PIPs. They want to get rid of employees to not pay and move us.

If you are on a PIP and fired there is no severance. Do you think XOM wants to pay $400k for your severance when they can get rid of you for free? Also, they’re not going to pay $100k to move you to Houston when they can offshore your role and pay someone in India $40k a year.

I saw this plan with my own eyes, so don’t say you were not warned.

It is fact managers are being asked to identify poor performers to start putting on PIPs. EM does not plan to move many to Houston. Get out before all the Pioneer employees are on the market.

They have attrition targets that have not been met, and our severance package is too expensive. This was in a presentation when they did not realized Denbury was in the room. This rumor sounds very true.

if they build a case to terminate you, they can without severance. I think the risk would only exist for those that have Exxon managers or new managers who are hungry for approval.

Ok troll. Anything in the next 6 months is severance, not PIP. Most, if not all of us would welcome that with open arms.

Have solid information that they have given the direction to start PIP'ing people and eliminate a lot of jobs in the next 6 months. Get your resume together and start searching because they want VERY few of us for Houston.

Look for a new job. Leave on your own terms. If not knowing if you’ll have a job post-Nov 2025 doesn’t concern you then ride it out. Don’t let XOM decisions control your peace of mind. The CIC (and Denbury leadership) sc--wed a lot of us over but in the end we are in control of the decisions we make. Keep your peace.

XOM is cancelling a lot of project, but not being completely transparent about it. Lots of folks are working on projects that will never happen. Some of us could see this and left while we could. Others know it's happening and are sticking around to milk the system for the next two years. Some apparently can't see what's going on.

@4skp+1sLrBqxc you obviously haven't read the CIC documents, cause if they even imply that your job will change or you will be moved, could trigger severance and asking them is just frustrating and baiting them into it

Yes. We obviously know we aren’t moving down until Nov, 2025. We also obviously know the ongoing severance situation…. That doesn’t answer those 2 questions POST- Nov, 2025.

So use the next year to assess staying or going? That’s how we do it year by year.

You realize the CEO has answered that question on repeat, you aren’t listening.
Houston- no foreseeable future, they will give ample notice. Will not be before Nov 2025, per severance agreement, unless you willingly accept a different role.
Employment- if you transitioned to Exxon, you’re Exxon. If you haven’t, you know the reason. Change of control has happened.

same old sh-t. Pay bump is nice. But new leadership dodging the 2 obvious questions about moving to Houston or employment status post change of control is getting incredibly tiring. I had low expectations going into the CEO’s Relationship Building presentation, and she managed to lower that bar and pi-s off all of us even more.
