Does anyone know of management is working to make things so miserable for their employees that they quit? There seems to be few positive points anymore and things consistently get worse. There will be some reason to cut the CIP again while rewarding management and the shareholders royally. I'm suprised we aren't back in the office in Houston already. Just put plastic bags on the windows and get us in. We need MW gone so we can revive this company.

Our workforce is spread out around the world. Especially with all the outsourcing coming into the office for teams meetings just doesn't help anything. It's a new world now and the office is outdated.
I disagree, teams works great. For technical meetings even though we are in the office, a teams meeting is better because Engineering needs tools, uprooting to a sh---y meeting room doesn't help, it a hindrance. Add to that that people in the office are often meeting with BUs remotely, it's very silly to come to the office. I'll do it, but don't pretend it's better for unspecified collaborative improvements.
We really need to look at the root cause of all this anxiety. With hybrid weeks and WFH, Chevron has lost critical mass on its (as stated) biggest asset - collaborating professionals. We've long known texts and emails don't cut it, now we're finding out Zoom/Teams is also a poor substitute (just look at all those kids who lost a year of education while fumbling with Zoom). As much as I hate to admit it (WFH and 3-day commutes are nice!), Chevron has to admit to itself that we're not a Silicon Valley startup, we need people back in the office and solving problems (not just holding meetings) together.
An easy solution would be to cut your WFH workforce in half. Double the required work load of those who WFH meaing they now have to work maybe half the time. Chevron gets the benefit of layoffs and less mouths to feed and the WFH group only has to work part time - winn/win.
I don't know why not WFH anymore is a problem. You can come in work in the morning then leave a note on your door that you are out in the facility. At that point you can leave and go home. Unless you have a meeting or actually need to see someone, you can zoom in. For all the "smart" people we claimed to have hired, I don't get the useless waste of time complaining about it. You adapt and overcome.
Conditions seem poised to change. Not sure if it’s for the better or not but the office renovation coupled with sending people to work from home for the next 2 or 3 months in RBU signals a rearranging of the deck chairs is about to drop!
@1pxl That's not 100% correct to stereotype ALL the millennials as the most selfish generation although they have certainly earned quite the reputation. As the Gen-x parent of 3 millennials, I can assure you that they are all not the same. My kids are hard working and have core values, unlike many of them.
Boomer gunna bo-m bo-m. The most selfish entitled generation of all time does not wanna leave the office because they their miserable little lives will have nothing left.
On a serious note it would be nice to have some positive news or initiatives from management. Everything is micro managing, cut to CIP, or cuts in budget. Nothing positive going on at all.

This company is awesome! Just take it all like water off a ducks back! You got this. It is a great company to work for! No one I ever met was overworking unless they chose to do so. If you have too much on that plate, scrape some of it off and finish what you have! Relax……ahhhhhhhh!

I also don't see the point of coming into the office, but Chevron treats me well and overall is a good place to work. Coming into the office, even cubes, isn't that bad in the scheme of things, get some perspective.
It’s so miserable being paid well, getting 9/80, bonus every year etc etc. You don’t know how good you have it compared with the rest of the world. Maybe take a step back and be grateful for a change…
You're not stuck, you are free to leave and go work at one of those so-called "modern industries" whenever you want. What's stopping you, They don't want you? Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you. Buh Bye!
All the dying oil companies are horrific places to work compared to the modern industries. What can you? We chose the wrong career and now we're stuck...
