I waited about a week to sign it. Considered consulting a lawyer as, I felt it was based on my age, but decided it probably wasn’t worth the aggravation. They would have dr-g it out for years without seeing a penny, so I took the money and ran. Still miffed about it but don’t miss the way the company has become. Not a good environment the last four or five years

Consider yourself fortunate to receive a severance package.
Read through it and call with any changes you need. Then document your edits in an email.
I met with my manager and the next level manager. They presented the package. I was so ready to get out, I signed. Then, I relooked and caught several mistakes. Make sure they are calculating your correct start/termination date. Read every single line. They will try to sc--w you over. Additionally, they will dray their feet correcting said paperwork. There was a communication that referenced me following up with my manager and my manager didn’t have a clue. Very unprofessional and there’s tons of opportunity for them to turn things to their advantage not yours.
I’m so thankful to be out of the chaos…and not have to deal with HR and Management who doesn’t have a clue.
Good Luck to You!
Was HR on the call?
