" We continue to hire in other parts of our company to drive our transformation and help our customers connect to the digital world," the statement read. "We are grateful for the contributions of all our employees, including those leaving Lumen."

Lumen is hiring lower cost lower talent folks in India. Lumen will obviously scramble as SHTF happens. Customers will suffer from it.

That sounds like Lumen’s Partner Sales Channel - they ask for quotes and have never even talked to the customer - give false info and get pi**ed off when they’re asked to at least give a valid location for a proposal.

“ Omg .. really well then tell that to the sakes people and so called engineers that quote on net to the 38 th floor but oh no alas our equipment goes only to the 34 th floor . Lied to the customer.. got paid .. and the rest of us workers are left sweeping up the mess to make it right ”

So this is the plan " FOMO" , using fear of missing out tactics they expect to drive, shame,
prod themselves into a customer base. If this is the plan then they do not understand
their customer base, when a customer has options which are similar, not necessarily equal, they choose the less expensive , as long as their needs are met.

I suppose AI will drive more cannibalism/commoditization when all they providers
get up and going this year. Latency is a big ask to hang ones hat upon.
