Three years ago a whole bunch of us told our IT partners that Agile would not be acceptable for Wires. Combine Agile part code delivery with the elimination of the extensive Wire test team and you get what you got. Wires use to do a live dress rehearsal of installing and backing out any tech changes over a couple of weekends. If all went well THEN they would allow the changes installed. If Wires goes down a billion dollars backs up in the queue every 15 minutes. It needs changed managed much more tightly than a loan processing system or Online Banking. Real shame but heads should roll.

This will likely be taken down as it describes the disaster. Billons (10+) in bad payments to wrong recipients went out of Wells Fargo after the failed SWIFT/ISO payments update. Only 1/10 of the money has come back.
Really think Kerrins will be let go? She is the diversity cheerleader and head lemon grower. While she deserves to be let go for all the sc--w ups on her watch and just for being plain incompetent in her role, she will throw others under the bus to protect her prestige, power and paycheck. She can never make more than she is making here , WF is just blind. Saul is a joke about succession planning if this was the best he could do. His HR rep knew of TK before and shoved her on us.

CIO responsible for payments that reported to Berwick has already been let go.
This is bad enough that the CEO is directly involved in this mess.
Too soon to tell if Berwick (and Kerrins) survive this.
The worst part is the ripple effect causing freezes and heightened awareness for all of IT which impacts all business at Wells Fargo.

Can you explain what the disaster was? The majority of us are just plebs, little leaf nodes at the bottom of the corporate org tree. If we are not in the silo where something has happened we are in the dark.
