Let's say someone took the entire last week of May off and didn't check their email until the second week of June, are they still considered employed? Do people have to be served? How does this work?

I'm guessing that if the layoff is indeed comind, EU offices won't be spared. Prior layoffs last year affected them as well.
Speaking about EU, what's the birdie saying about that region?
You will still be let go. All access to company resources will be terminated. Including Email and Slack. They will use your personal email in Workday for communications. There is no getting around being let go unless you're in the EU or some country with sane employment laws.
