Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

With Blue Cross not renewing who do you think is next?

So Blue Cross is not going to renew for their insurance authorizations to be done via Optum/Navihealth/Home & Communuty, so who do you think is next to pull out or not renew? It was always odd to me that another insurance company would allow their competitor to handle certain things for them. I left 6 months ago and am so glad I left when I did. There are so many things falling apart there and I am glad I am not having to deal with the stress and lies anymore.

Boxer, as long as your head is in the sand, you will never grow or learn. But as long as you are happy there, enjoy yourself.

I don’t think I have my head in the sand. I just don’t think spewing negative rumors helps anyone. I think once the dust settles, things will be ok. Optum just added too many different companies too quickly. They’ll reduce the redundancies and things will work out. Keep your head up everyone. Don’t get discouraged! I for one will work harder during all this.

This “Boxer” is probably a somewhat new manager thinking they can spew some cr@p on a stick and see if the rest of us will say it smells like a flower. When they cut your job let us know how you forgot how goal oriented to be. Maybe you should have spent more time working than coming on this board to fill us with your optimism. Your poor team. Do they have to listen to these pep talks regularly?

Plenty of productive HHCCs were let go. Glad you are optimistic, but it’s good to be realistic too.

Currently employed as an SICC for Navi/Optum H&C. Last meeting we had leadership seemed upbeat and that the worst was over. Blue Cross pulling out is not the end of the world. I like to be optimistic and think we’ll be a leaner company and our best is yet to come. Too much negativity here and I felt the need to say something uplifting. Hope this helps someone stay positive and realize that as long as you stay productive, do what you need to do you’ll be fine. I think a lot of people that were let go were really not goal oriented and didn’t help the company move forward. Will more be let go? Yes, but only those that spend half their time pretending to work and the other half complaining about work. I have a strong work ethic and I believe that you just need to work harder!

My team is open about how none of us use the company plans. They are all terrible and our spouses have better insurance.

Navi reviewed for these insurance companies prior to Optum acquiring them. I’m sure they were told nothing is changing etc, but now they just want to pull out. I can see humana not renewing. Optum already has reviewers so I can see UHC auths getting transferred to them and have it not be a navi thing anymore. Who really knows honestly. It’s all a mess. “Leadership” saying everything is ok. Worst part is people believing it!
