Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Layoffs this week?

So, last week, the predictions about layoffs didn’t pan out… but of course, there was the President’s Achievement awards. They didn’t want to ruin the good vibes of the event. Sort of like Converge happening the week before layoffs. It was cruel to pump up people they had already decided to lay off.

There are DV “managers only” meetings for Mon and Fri this week to discuss reorganization. Earnings call for Q1 is May 1.

I hope we are spared from layoffs for at least another quarter to give the new strategies a chance to work.

That's great leadership! Wow. Disappointing, but not surprising.

Connor canceled the next two DI Presales office hour sessions as well. Oh yeah, they are definitely doing layoffs.

Our Bi-weekly All Hands Meeting canceled. Same thing happened last year. So transparent.

If layoffs are going to happen, then likely this Wednesday or Thursday because CDW recently announced they will release their 1st Quarter results on May 1st. Layoffs normally coincide with 1st Quarter earnings.

I'm not on a bench, but I do feel equally unable to affect how much customer work I have. I've heard DV might be moving to more individualized goals for selling and delivery which blows my mind. I know presales people that just get handed work by AMs, BDMs, and ATAEs and others that are busting their butts to find work and are struggling to close deals and work projects. How can they push individual goals when so much is out of our control to be able to make happen even when we try so hard.

How many of you are on the bench waiting for more work?

Same here. Management is disengaged. I noticed Employee Relations and management meeting late Friday afternoon. I fully expected today to be the day or at least this week to be the week. Employee Relations typically meets with management to discuss who to let go then they draft the severance packages for those selected individuals.

I've heard management has completely ghosted everyone which is so wild. Makes me wonder if there is some dramatic overhaul coming to affect middle management as much as the regular folk, or if it's just bad leadership not communicating either way.

It's shocking to me the lack of actual leadership at a communication level. CDW doesn't seem to have anyone, at any level that brings I aspiration, vision or passion to the business. There are so few leaders that anyone wants to rally around. It's like a massive Dunder Mifflin where everyone just works in their own little silo, does there one little task, punches the clock.

I hear people from DV that used to work at IGNW talk about the energy and passion those teams had. I hear about folks on the engineering level at Sirius that had a "customer always first" attitude. Im fairly new to CDW but it seems like a culture of "stay in your lane, just get your daily work done, don't stick your neck out". Customer isn't first. Employees aren't first. I guess it's just the shareholder that's first and everyone feels it.

Since December it has been a dumpster fire and now people are pretty much qq. But it was bad even before that because CDW leaders don’t listen or get Cloud and business line selling at all. The new DV leader is supposed to be Eccles who also doesn’t know cloud and who has been literally ghosting the DV team for the last 4 months. Many great people in DV left in frustration, many other’s have 1 foot out the door. Still better than Sirius was, I can say that.

Figuring the rest of us outside of DV may not have as much excitement going on but sure hope there aren't layoffs anywhere. DV sounds like it's been a dumpster fire
