Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Workplace accommodation woes

Not sure where else to go or who to report this to. I’ve had a work accommodation request submitted going on over a month now and the person I was working with was laid off. Nobody is helping me. Does anyone know what government agency I can report this to? I know we have the OCC, EC, and EEOC for other concerns but didn’t know if this falls under any of those. Apologies for my lack of knowledge. I really love my job, but the company is letting me down.

Have you tried just calling the main HR number? They can usually get you an answer or to the right people. Go/askHR is another resource.

First and foremost, keep records of email, text messages, and conversations. Keep copies at home should you suddenly find yourself dismissed. Remember that email traffic is monitored, so use good judgement when sending anything to a personal email address.

I have no history of working with govt agencies. But I suspect any response will take a long time, if at all. Does the "nobody is helping me" include your boss? If you have a good relationship with him, raise your concern to him. It's not his to resolve or answer, but he should escalate to make sure you get a response. Yes, there are leaders who will do that (although probably not enough).

Are there other people leaders you trust? Maybe ask them for advice if your boss is unresponsive. Don't throw your boss under the bus, even if he deserves it. It will get back to him and not help your cause. Something like "My boss has not had any success with this, do you have any ideas?"

Leadership collectively owes you a response, even if the answer is "no." Pursue govt agencies in parallel.

I wish you success.

The leave and accommodations team were laid off and decisions are still being on made retroactively on how work should be handled. This could be a big reason for the delay.

Wow, someone reaches out with and Americans with Disabilities Act question and gets told to STFU? You cannot state there is no threat when you actually post a threat. Wrong, very wrong people.

Maybe you should try and STFU? I’ve tried several times. No threats here. Neither Lincoln or HR has been of any assistance. Enjoy your evening.

They’re still reviewing requests. Maybe try reaching to HR for an update instead of posting anonymous threats on a public forum?
