Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How Long Until Tesla Is Bankrupt??

I think this massive Tesla layoff is just the beginning.

Now that the US is ending the 'credit' - also known as a handout - to buy electric vehicles, people are realizing that Teslas are too expensive.

Also, the fit and finish in a Tesla is absolute garbage. And for the prices they expect people to pay, I say no way. Plus the style is very dated. He has never done a major model change. And when (if!) he tries, he is going to fail miserably.

I say so long Tesla!

I give it 3 years.

Tesla should hire the shed Ford employees because it's obvious that they where the ones who knew how to make vehicles.

Not looking too good for this EV pioneer.

Nope not too good here either...

Polestar hanging on by another cash infusion. KBB will buy your two year old car for half of its original sell price.

What does this suggest? Anybody see a bright future for EVs?

Tesla will never be in bankruptcy. They are making billions per years, just not as much as what WS expected.

I think the real question here is..."How long until Ford tries to solve all their issues by hiring all the shed Tesla talent...and then go bankrupt themselves?".

Ridiculous. You obviously don't follow the space well enough to know that fit/finish has dramatically improved for their high volume models. Their federal subsidy income is approximately 3% of their income. They released a Cybertruck, which is an all-new model by definition, and its' backlog exceeds the year's production. The Model 3 just got a big refresh, and the price is lower than the average Camry sold. $38,000 is not expensive. No one knows the state of EV subsidies, but Tesla was weathering no subsidies for years just fine. Every other manufacturer should worry about not having subsidies as they all produce EVs at a negative profit margin, while Tesla makes an average of $8200 per vehicle.

@qkl+1s6vcYva Interesting article pointing out the stupidity of the masses. I buy a vehicle looking for utility and a good deal (none of those fit a Tesla). I don't care what religion, political views, skin color, nor even the s-xual preferences of anyone in the company manufacturing my vehicle. I just want to make sure my vehicle is safe, well made, well designed. Period! I am buying a vehicle, not making friends with the C suite, LOL.

However, many people don't even bother to research the vehicle they want to buy. Actually, I know a person that went into the dealership for a maintenance service, and ended trading it and buying a brand new one. Of course id--ts like that would threat companies of not buying their products, even when most of them cannot even afford a Tesla. Most of these id--ts don't realize that the beauty of America is having diverse opinions, and people should be valued for their actions, not for their ideas.

@OP. Tesla has 2 good things going on for them. The first and more important, the brand. Young people that I have talked to, they don't tell me they want an electrical vehicle, they tell me they want a Tesla. Since most of the youth these days are woke or had some kind of brainwashing, many believe in Tesla. As a luxury brand, people are willing to put up with some of the issues. Therefore, Tesla's future seems safe for a while.

The second good thing is the innovation. They are working to reduce the production costs by innovation, not by outsourcing (Ford should learn this). Therefore, they can adapt to changes.

My take is that EVs are a niche market, and Tesla owns that market. Sure, the valuation of the company will go down in time, but Tesla should survive. I would bet on Tesla better than on Ford.

My guess is that Tesla will be the only survivor among all “EV” only manufacturers, but at a much smaller scale. Other EV manufacturers like Rivian and Lucid will belly up in a year or two.

The robbers must be id--ts to total a car by cutting two pipes and yanking. Trucks are better to steal from they are easier access.

I know some Ford employees who bought a Tesla car. They told me that they don't like Ford cars. They suggested me not to buy a Ford vehicle ever. If own employees feel this way Ford will fail soon.

A large part of Tesla’s problem is that Elon is alienating Tesla’s typical customer base with his far right posts on X.

Tesla's are over-priced, over-hyped, junk promoted with government incentives and regulations. Their owners spend much of their lives planning their routes around charging stations that are aging and failing quicker than they're being installed and maintained, and that are reliant on an aging, failing, and insufficient electrical grid. Like Ford, EV owners bought the hype and they'll pay for it in many ways. Charging stations are going to go the way of the pay phone, and EV's will litter yards and fields.

And breaking a simple plastic flange on a Tesla can effectively total it. Google for: Tesla plastic ni-ple repair

Someome stole the catalytic converter from my 8 year old Camry last night. Car is totalled. This would never happen in a Tesla. In fact, a Tesla would be on the road twice as long as the Camry. That's the real problem. They're not wearing out fast enough to generate new customers.
