Quarterly Townhall Today - get ready

No doubt there will be some selectively chosen adjectives and phrases which really mean, "we are dumping as many Americans as we can without have to pay for a RIF. We've made some intolerable decisions which will compel long time workers to leave, so we can replace with offshore, cheaper labor and AI".

Medicare “can’t legally go” is the key. Will take an act of congress for other lines of business, which means voting the right people in office. Companies will always tilt towards profits, any means necessary. Government is the check and balance to stop it from going off the rails.

Hacks, billions in lawsuits, etc. do not change this behavior. Only government policies can change it.

A lot of jobs are going offshore. I think everything will except medicare because it cant legally go. Look at the names in IT? Look at PO/PMs, they totally can go off shore. I think all of the digital side will move offshore.

About a year ago an administrative aide asked us to drive into the office as some upper management was there. Even told us to come in because " we bought pretzels and water"...are your forking kidding me? Are we elephants at the zoo??? Yep, I'll drive 30 minutes for pretzels and water...like he-l...anyone every hear the term cooley wages? The Chinese Lords paid the peasants in rice. Coal companies didn't pay cash, paid the workers in vouchers for the company store, which in essence enslaved them (1930's Pennsylvania). This treats business is the same feudal mentality. And it's pretty frightening to see this in corporate America today.

So devastating for many and unfortunately true. I believe leadership thinks we are a bunch of id--ts and can't read between the lines or see the writing on the wall. They talk down to us!!!

I don’t care about treats at all, but I will say I was in the office for the Townhall just randomly and immediately went to PulsePoint events like “oh sweet I’ll grab a treat” and there was none. So it just highlights how terrible this company is managed and never seems to think anything through. I don’t get why you would do that - it actually actively annoyed me about being in the office and being considered second class to other locations.

They are trying to get people to go to the office by telling them they will get a treat! What is this, Romper Room! Havard taught me to work for money, not treats.

Our department isn’t allowed to attend town halls or really any company meeting. Even when it is our own line of business. We get the invites and ignore them at this point. Yet it seems I survived another Thursday friends

@zlq+1s6iOBCI that’s really what rubs you about hellevance, is not getting “treats”. A free soda and slice of pizza. You new here?

She said that people in the office today were getting treats. Our reasonably large office did NOT. Does she not realize when she does that (or mentions other celebrations/parties in the office) that it pi---s off everyone who is left out? Way to make us feel like "part of the team," Gail.
