Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Any News on Pending Lay-Offs?

I come to this site periodically to check the waters on any pending layoffs but mostly all I find are long-winded threads on other unrelated topics by people who have secure jobs and apparently nothing to do with their time. Many are complaints about other employees, pay, etc. I always hope to hear from previous layoff employees and their experience, advice, etc. With the state of the economy today who knows what will happen to many of us in the near future. The RM/MW/DEI etc, etc. business is miserable but is not my immediate concern. Not at the top of my list. Does anyone else see that also?

Waiting for the packages to be offered again. Trying to figure out why so many have been leaving without one as of late. Especially with a push to move employee positions to Manilla (even if it means hiring more there).

There is no substitute that really satisfies the ongoing thirst for a layoff!

Layoffs were coming, but this little Hess imbroglio now has management worried that the Guyana reserves won't come through and they'll have to go to Plan B - actually finding oil - to substitute.

What kind of question is that on. “Layoff Site?!” Get outta here!

No way we’ll see large scale layoffs/reorgs. The company is barely functional, and although they can’t admit it, brass knows the last reorg was a goat fu-k. They might reorg specific BUs that aren’t working - hey EMC - otherwise nothing changes.

What is the "OB"? Maybe the poster with a "pea-sized brain" can explain that to the readers?

As others have said, nothing will happen until Hess is resolved. As to the cry baby OB...~"why do people confuse my little pea-sized brain by talking about things other than layoffs between times there are no layoffs"...maybe you should just retire before your head explodes!

Shell is restructuring and laying off to cut costs.

BP is reorganizing and laying off to cut costs.

Tick tock

Tick tock.

@fck, that would be funny or thought provoking if it wasn't for the pesky little fact that boomers actually Invented the I-phone and all of it's peers. Which means it says more about the poster than the post.

No layoffs. Company knows people are just waiting to get paid to leave nowadays. Easier to shed in other ways

2010 saw retention bonuses because Chevron was afraid people would quit. 2015 was necessary to purge the vast amount of over highers Chevron made because of the fear of the old timers retiring and then they didn't. 2020 was a purge of the over 50 white male to make way for diversity highers. 2025 layoffs will be as follows - If you are a white male over 50 start looking for other opportunites. If you are female or a minority you have a 99% chance of being retained. If you are g-y or trans your odds increase to 100% retention. This will go on until Chevron satisfies their DEI quota.

Hold on tight folk - safe after recent reorg, but had a peak at external options in the event of not coming through. Base pay squares off, but Chevron’s benefits can not be matched, offers were not even close for someone like me with 25 + yrs. My humble opinion is the benefits are worth the pain of the 3 or 4 year reorg cycle. Those that complain likely do not have a clue how good they have it.

It will be after Hess merger or conclusion of the deal [one way or the other], perhaps sometime after H1 2025 at earliest unless thing turn for the worse [oil price nose dive].

There are always layoffs around the corner. So what? What is there to discuss? It is more interesting to gossip and chat about other Chevron-related topics here and that's ok.

2010, 2015, 2020 layoffs. CoPilot told me to expect layoffs in 2025.

Hess will be the cover story but we all know MKW is like an addict trying to get one more ride on the dragon.

If you are in IT BB somewhat said it in his townhall they are looking to get out of "High Cost Regions" so look for US IT layoffs in the future.
