I know of several people in IT who received 60-day notices. This is bad. Boeing already had IT layoffs, and it did not go well.... Anybody else heard something similar?

Now go back home. You did your job HR. You deserve a bonus for that lie.
The Boeing I'm at and the section I'm involved with is excellent at what we do. Love for human life, safety and work ethic etc is always priority. See something say something 💯 % however they did lay off a lot of contractors.
Boeing even cheats on free thinking message boards. What dweebs
Be advised, Boeing now has an India IT team that nulls out the reaction votes of this site. Reckon Boeing feels the need to stymie the truth to allow increasing their stock value for executive severance packages. Especially after the army of whistle blowers now coming forward to shed light on Boeing's broken and corrupt operations.
Yah... the goal for Boeing IT is to have 30% of workforce abroad... More layoffs will come for sure. I do not understand how distributing work contributes to quality and velocity of the project. If anything it detracts from quality. However, it saves money, so Boeing decided to pay less for lower quality than to pay more for better quality. We will wait and see. I am using Boeing to further my education and take a bunch of training and certifications just to be ready.
I was a developer at Boeing for almost 5 years and jumped ship when they started spinning up Boeing India. Despite messages from Brad Elemenhurst and the lady IT person saying that our jobs were safe, I did not feel as if my job was safe. Ted Colbert switched orgs at the right time.
After that, turns out they laid off lots of Boeing IT in SC, including several of my friends.
Listen to your gut.
Boeing doesn't need any employees anymore. It's just a shell company with nepos mouthing off and blowing smoke around mirrors to jack up stock price.

Boeing management is a bunch of bean counters who could not care less about the company. They care about their bonuses only.
However, there are still many good and talented people working for the company. It is sad to see them being laid off. Do not forget that Boeing builds one of the most complex systems in the world, if not most complex.
The layoffs will follow, it is for sure. I am just curious how many more TI folks will be let go. The substitutes in India for the most part are not as good as domestic IT folks.
At this point there is not much to worry over, a vast majority of
people who matter to the success of the company have already
left.
Most, driven out by the nonsense that is DEI and that
groups intolerance towards micro-aggressions.
This new feelings science
(you know feelings, the space between your ears, Not Reality)
This new science is based on looking funny at someone
“In Their Mind” and causing them to feel bad.
After successfully destroying the company’s reputation and
the product line, the only thing left Was, the work force.
Boeing has pulled off a hat trick of epic proportions.
Causing a new union to be formed, called Sweepers 304
for all those left clinching on.
In the near future the only thing Boeing will be producing is
Tourist Trinkets, in memory of their glory days.
It’s only a matter of time that’s it’s not just going to be IT, it’s going to be many more departments, etc; the dominos will fall.
