Associate affected by the recent RIF/rebadging to Deloitte here….
Can we talk about how they make you work for a month to two months prior to your layoff date?
It is so extremely difficult to work beside all the people that they decided that they were worthy to have jobs at Deloitte knowing they threw YOU out like damaged goods.
Then to make it worse the people that got to keep jobs (rebadged to Deloitte) are complaining about it in the presence of the associates that are just sh** out of luck and have no job, no options…just nothing. But a pat on the back for decades of hard work and send you on your merry way.
It takes everything in me to just get through one day. I just don’t think I’m going to make it to 5/31 without landing on the psych ward or jail.

Welp we know who works in management
I never understood how rebranding wasn’t seen as a leadership deficiency. Same associates + different leadership = better results.
Function as part of a RIF? I had 5 weeks before I was out - so I trucked along, gave the bare minimum and applied (and interviewed) for other jobs THE ENTIRE TIME.
Joe was a much much better leader than what's there now, regardless of stock prices. That's the forefront now. And look, businesses are to make money, let's be honest. But when leadership who are earning millions in salary each year get on a call and say how great we're doing and that "we're swimming in money" and then layoff thousands --- thousands who worked hard, lost sleep, gave up free time, have families, mortgages,... well, there's a special place in he-l for people who profit billions and still layoff good people, while earning millions for themselves.
I miss Joe. Oh boy, not this again.! I went through this but I was not Rebadged to Deloitte, or RiF'ed ( at the time) but some of my colleagues were. I worked closely with them on a project. So I'm working with the same people I did before the rebranding. Information was withheld from them when they rebranded. . They will su-k all the information out of you, write up fancy statistics from the information you gave them. They re locate you. ( Some people Florida some Georgia) And when the work or project you're working on is complete guess what ? So it's good for now but don't think your a Deloitte employee now. You will have to apply
After their time with Deloitte, people re applied at Anthem and got back in a different area.
Neither situation is good and look what it's doing to all of us. It's such a toxic environment. Please take care of YOU. And try to get through it stay strong .
Oh and Gail is a piece of work, she's created this toxic environment.
Blessings to all
Only thing you can do is request as much as you can as quickly as you can. I have been in this scenario before. My state doesn't pay out either. It's bullsh-t. You just have to beat your teammates to the requests unfortunately.
I am in GA. Of course they do not mandate that PTO be paid out. So myself and the others here in GA are sh— out of luck again.
PTO is not paid out unless you are in a state that mandates payout (CA and ME are 2, but there are others). Everyone else, there is no payouts and time is lost. Sick time is available to use as it always is.
I am not sure how that works either, but feedback from others who do know may be helpful...so you do not lose your PTO payout.
Can you call out sick instead of asking for PTO? I really don't know so I am asking. Doesn't the company have to pay you for up to 40 hours of PTO if you have that much saved? No need to reply with negative remarks for thus ask...just trying to think how thise RIF'D can not lose their PTO pay.
My heart hurts for ALL who are affected by the RIF and rebadging. Not only for this round, but for all that gave already occurred and those that will occur. PLEASE PLEASE stop verbally attacking one another for how they feel or how the react to the situation or fir simply expressing their feelings. Verbally attacking one another brings a terrible situation into a deeper place and this is counterproductive. Be kind to one another and let's support one another.
With a “hope” of redeployment there is an incentive to work hard and train others for the remainder of your time. If there is no “real” opportunity then that’s some sick psyops stuff.
Oh and we CAN’T burn all our PTO. We’ve been told only a certain number of people can be only be off at a time. So we’re ALL losing our PTO on 5/31. Unless you live in one of those states where the law dictates the company has to pay you for it. I do not live in one of those states.
Not putting my energy into anger. But make no mistake. I AM angry. I’m angry for ALL of us that have 10, 15, 25, 30, 35, 40 plus years in this place only to be A. Thrown away or B. Forced to go work for another company.
All I’m just trying to get you to see is you think it’s so much easier for us on the “redeployment” side because we can just get other jobs in the company and keep our time, benefits etc. Well believe it or not it’s not that simple. Most jobs they post already knowing who they want in that role. They’re just posting the position for the sake of argument. You have about a snowballs chance in he-l of getting these positions. Many of us that have been in the game for years or decades have not been on an interview or updated a resume in 15, 20 years. We feel completely LOST. Please don’t discount how we are feeling too.
I’m well aware that this is how this company (and many other corporations) operate. We all have constantly lived under the threat of a RIF for several years now. Being terrified every other Thursday, constantly checking this site for clues of if we’re going to be impacted. It doesn’t make it any more terrifying when it happens to you.
Not having pity party over here. Just stating the obvious that one group is calling their banks trying to make potential arrangements on mortgages and other financial obligations and figuring out how they’re going to take care of their children and health care needs and the other group is not. It’s the facts.
You’re right about one thing though. I don’t wish this sh** on my worst enemy.
I miss the old days when we cared about workers. Do you remember what it was like before?
Today, I just get headlines that we need to sponsor H-1b visa all the time, companies need to outsource jobs all the time. There is a labor shortage all the time, and now there is a Great Talent Stagnation, except the benefit doesn't applied to most of American workers.

"The Great Resignation is effectively over. We’re now in the Great Talent Stagnation, where employers’ biggest concern is the lack of qualified applicants."

You can continue to put your energy your anger. Fact of the matter is, this is corporate America. If you think any other big company is going to be any different, you are sadly mistaken. You don't think we have all been part of a RIF before? The truth is, most of the redeployed, if not all, WILL have continued employment. And if you don't, that su-ks. Not wishing that on anyone. There are hundreds of jobs posted. So yes, I do think they will find something for most if not all. We can come back here at the end of May and look at the numbers. If it was a true RIF there are much easier ways to do that than all of this process. The poor me BS has to stop though. These big companies owe you nothing. If you are looking for loyalty from an employer, try a small business. We go through RIFs every 4 months around here. Just the nature of the beast. For those that don't find continued employment, it su-ks and I am not wishing that on anyone. But put your effort into finding something instead of crying poor me. That will get you nowhere.
Make sure you burn ALL your PTO....
Well said!!!
You’re fking kidding me right now right???? You got to be if you think management is going to be able to find jobs for ALL 40 people in “redeployment”. Someone is going to lose in this situation…and it da sure isn’t YOU. So YOU stop it…
You’re kidding yourself trying to spin this sh*t show as anything other than a RIF. You’re just as bad as they are trying to hide behind the terminology: redeployment.
You talk about having to start over with years of service, 401K, PTO etc if you go over to Deloitte but WTF do you think we are forced to do as part of the “redeployment” (since you don’t want say RIF)
Once we leave and that severance runs out we have nothing. Absolutely nothing. No health insurance, no 401k, no PTO, NO DAMN PAYCHECK!!!
Would you rather have it this way??? If it’s so terrible then why don’t you give up YOUR spot to a person on the “redeployment” side of things that desperately needs to work. Desperately needs health insurance. I promise you won’t. Because while you’re complaining about going to Deloitte you’re secretly breathing a sigh of relief that you don’t have to suffer the same fate as the “redeployed” all while sitting in meetings with us blatantly disrespecting us by complaining about having a job.
Stop...just stop. Management is busting their a-s to find ALL a job. Yall keep calling this a RIF and it is not. It's a redeployment and a rebadge. Big difference. Get your facts straight. The people being rebadged have their own set of struggles. You think losing 30 years of tenure isn't a big deal? You think there will ACTUALLY be jobs here in 3 years when this project is over? How about losing AIP? How about losing 3 years of employer match on 401k? I am so sick of the complaining. Redeploys WILL have a job with Elevance when all is said and done. And if you don't, quite honestly you weren't qualifies for the job you have. STOP selling this as a RIF. How about not being given a choice? That's what the Deloitte people are dealing with. If the Deloitte job is turned down, you are on your own. No severence, no nothing. If a redeployment doesn't get a matching position, they get their severence. Again, get your facts straight. It's not a pity parry for one around here, everyone is impacted and in the mean time we all have work to do. If you don't have the integrity to continue to do your work, that says more about you than the company.
You are actually working? Use you time to do the bare minimum and apply for jobs.
Aren't you able to apply for internal jobs? So how are you out of options and sh-t out of luck?
