On a final CAP—suggest termination?

I was supposed to get the outcome of my cap last month but got sick and had to take time off. It’s not the right fit for me and my scores are bogging down the whole team who is doing great—can I suggest termination to my manager or will they do it for me?

I don’t want my performance to affect the whole team and I want to move on anyways, just can’t flat out quit.

As a prior poster suggested, do not suggest termination yourself, if you're at all wanting to collect unemployment. I am not HR, but it could be construed as self-decided. At any rate, you will have better luck with your state's unemployment agency if the termination comes directly from the company.

Kudos to you for recognizing that your role isn’t the right fit for you vs. blaming it on someone else. Very common to hear how it’s everyone else’s fault when an individual struggles to perform. Sometimes it’s just that type of work isn’t for you. Good luck on your future endeavors.

I think you get unemployment if you are terminated even if you are not meeting performance.

You won’t get unemployment if you’re fired for not meeting your performance.

I wouldn’t if you are on a final cap and didn’t meet metrics they will let you go. Than you can get something right for you. I hope everything works out.
