Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Less and less work

I'm concerned because there is less work going on in my area and my workload as well. Do you think my team is under the chopping block and management is just not trickling down the info? Additionally, there are more silos, red tape, and people hoarding stuff than before the reorg.

I'm only going to say my team is in O&T in tech. Can't say much more on dept. Thanks!

Good idea in theory! However I will be identified as trouble and not a team player by Citi ‘ culture. Remember SVP is a title of favoritism. Demoted ones still have power from their boss friend’s sympathy! Citi management theory is we happy together. Work will be done anyway by whoever. Only people can shine is the ones they want them to shine. Make their favorite heros by putting them in a position of hero.

Its a bold step but no more bolder than taking credit for someone else’s work.

Mr.\Mrs. Skip level manager,
Here are the things that I’ve been working on and completed as successful.
I thought I’d let you know directly as the SVP has gotten into the habit of taking credit for other peoples work in order that they shine. Not only is this against Citi’s ethics but it also fosters a hostile work environment. Also know that I’ll be forwarding this on to HR for a paper trail in case I get retaliated against by the SVP, which by the way seems to be the norm.

Wait a day, then reply back to your own thread with the SVP cc’d, with: Adding SVP to the cc’ line.

The reason you want to do this so that the skip level manager can see and digest this correspondence unfettered without the SVP attempting spin control. You add the SVP to the thread later so that you make sure the SVP knows that you have their @ss in check.

yes. Less and less work but more people! IC SVP will take credit for your work so you will become a high paid intern from VP! Who have to deal with the demoted negative SVP who do not even put your name on the project you completed! Vito’s mercy to nonqualified managers to pay them same to push out lower level who actually doing the work!

I'm in OP/Risk and there are a lot of projects paused and a lot more being offshore. Most of my team is remote and only a handful can report to our “main location “. Most of us work out of state. We haven't been giving any input only that we need to wait and that no one knows anything. While we get subtle hints that layoffs are coming this month. This has been the dynamic since November. The frustration is evident and people are quiet quitting all waiting for the axe to come.

Can`t say anything specific on the matter in O&T Tech, but in our department it still feels busy.
