When you finally left Intel did you give any notice? Did you walkout or retire?

While it is glamorous to say F-you and leave in a hurry, Intel has lawyers who have nothing to do and may send a notice on some technicality. What would be appropriate is to take all your vacations and the end of it give a 2 week notice (Friday evening), nothing more, nothing less and leave
What if there is an RSU grant that is coming 40 days later and you have already accepted another offer. What would you do ?
I still have some RSU stocks for sale at $5 at the end of next month and will lower to $3 at the end of the year during special layoff moving sale if anyone is interesting to buy.
I recommend not announcing your retirement months in advance. This is in case you change your mind, or are able to opt into a package on a different time line. Just wait until about a month out.
Just simple as unplug the power cord from Intel laptop and return it to the manager. Here is your Intel gift boss since I am going to buy a better non Intel laptop to work on.
Give 2 to 4 weeks based on your role and seniority level. It's the right thing to do.
Plus tech world is actually rather small. No need to burn bridges.
You don’t have to give any notice whatsoever, it’s employment at will. Traditionally you give at least 2 weeks but it’s up to you.
@1wrw. What if you were going to a direct competitor, would you still get 3 weeks ?
I gave 3 weeks so that my last day would be at the beginning of the next month so that I had an extra month of health care. I also took vacation the entire time so my tw-t of a manager got zero work out of me for those 3 weeks.
