Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Will layoffs spill into next week?

Just so I know for how long I should nurture my anxiety.

Manager here. No layoffs next week. They wanted to notify everyone this week if they were losing their job && tell the rest that they were not impacted before the weekend began.

There won’t be any more this year. Thats the word from executives. But if people are not compliant with the dynamic working, it is grounds for firing. That is in the literature you can read yourself. Or you don’t go in, expect to be noticed and removed. Sorry, I know going to the office su-ks, but it’s a privately held company. Abby can do what she wants.

addendum to last post...re: reference to 90 days. Unclear if that's 90 days until last day for selected people, or notifications dripping out over 90 days

I heard 4K people, spread over the next 90 or so days (long time to wait for the other shoe!) . In addition to Agile org, some groups heavily hit were Digital Assets and Chapter management, including people who have been star performers. Fidelity historically has been generous with severance relative to other companies - if this still holds true. In the past, VPs/grade 8s minimum of 9 months, and Directors 6 mos. Perhaps longer, based on tenure.

My boss with longer tenure got axed yesterday at NC , he's a true leader with lot of potentials , its a fidelity loss I would say. He told us that round1 is over and no info of any further round this year

Yesterday was end of round 1. Round 2 will begin with the 50 50 return to office for those that aren’t compliant.

Be sure to have an emergency fund for 3-6 months expenses, it may be a large drain. Fidelity has hired over 20,000 people in the last 2 years
