Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Transitioning from regular plan to cobra, or covered Cal

Hi , can anyone help me . So I'm part of the 10/20 lay off. How soon before your severance/ insurance ends do you apply for cobra or covered California to avoid a gap or an overlap ?

Those that have the RMSA , can you select a Covered California ( Obama care) as long as it's Anthem oh sorry Elevance is it cheaper or even worth considering ?

I have to carry a two party insurance policy until my husband is eligible for Medicare then I'll need help there also..
Oh and sorry about the layoffs I just read it. Company su-ks
Blessings

I retired and can use RMSA funds to be reimbursed for dental and vision cobra or retiree coverage. You cannot use it for ACA but can use it for a Med Supp or MA plan by Anthem when you turn 65. I plan on just using it for dental vision for me and my spouse. Should last around 4 years or so.

I wasn’t RIF’d but retired last year I have been using my RMSA for my dental and vision. Check out Join Crowd Health (dot) org. Co-op type healthcare paid by members. The RMSA should last 2 years for my dental and vision it is very manual in submitting claims.
